And I'm backer 19. Sure hope it hits $12,000. I would love a color book. :)

Re: Call for Domesday submissions...

You may want to document submission guidelines. Not to stifle but to provide an idea of how you want things provided -- for example, if you want spell names bold and magic items in italics. It will save you a considerable amount of time pre-editing. Also, file format -- do you want RTF or DOCX? It ...

Nice change of pace

I finally got a chance to run C&C for my group last night for the first time. The first combat was sluggish as we felt things out, but the rest of the combats moved very quickly, and in turn I was able to keep them very cinematic. I actually had one player say that he had already gone when I ask...

Reading through the C&C Monsters and Treasure book, right now. An opening has finally occurred in our gaming group's schedule, and I'm going to get them hooked on C&C. :)

Looks like they were pretty confident that they were not going to meet their goal, and decided to cancel and rethink their approach instead of having the Kickstarter just fail outright. Just my take on it.

Has there been any indication as to how much the PDF will cost for us non-backers when it is released? I skimmed the announcement page, and it appears they are going to be releasing it for sale on Drivethru in a week, or so, but did not see a price mentioned.

I wish I wasn't broke right now. :( With all of those stretch goals that have been unlocked, this really seems like a great deal for only $100.

This sounds awesome, and I think that I know just where in my world I'm going to drop it, too. :) It also reminds me of Edge, in the Dragonmech setting. I am looking forward to picking it up. Of course, now I have to wait until next payday to order a copy. Great review!

Yep those are cool! What monster is that in the 2nd one? Mother-in-Law LoL! Reminds me of a quote from a sci-fi game that my son and I were in while he was still in high school. Another character was asking my character, "So, what are the big scary monsters on your planet?" Before I could...

I am currently reading The Lost King by Margaret Weis. I was actually surprised that this somehow had managed to completely miss my radar. I saw her post a few weeks ago about how the series had been picked up for a TV series, and immediately went out and bought the first three books.

It looks like the creator of the tool moved it to be a web based app, now. Here is the direct link to the tool . The only hiccup that I've found so far is that if your character doesn't have any spells, make sure to uncheck the "Show Spells" box before clicking print, or you will get an er...

Spell prep times

Does anyone house rule spell prep times? At 15 minutes a spell, a 5th level caster, with no bonus spells, will have to spend 3 hours memorizing their spells, if they exhausted all of their spells the day before. That also isn't taking into account the rest times needed beforehand. I'm kicking around...

They are portrait, which is really the only thing I didn't like when I first got it. I'm finding that it isn't that big a deal, though, since it is two two-panel screens, instead of one four-panel screen.

Re: Newbie Question 2: Natural 20 and Skill Rolls

One thing I hate about "Crits" is when that is the only way a AC can be hit, and the CK still gives them the effect of a "Critical success", IE add additional damage in some manner. I think when it requires the NAt 20 for them to even hit, they should not then get any additional...

Re: Newbie Question 2: Natural 20 and Skill Rolls

Since I'm also a newb with C&C, I'm glad that I had come across this thread. I was also just assuming that nat 20's/nat 1's were automatic success/fail in combat, and on saves. I'm planning on running RAW as I start, but this may very well be one of the first things that gets house ruled. To be ...

Re: Newbie Question 2: Natural 20 and Skill Rolls

Thats house rule territory. Do it however you like it. Really? Because it's codified in the SRD. I figured C&C either kept it the same or changed it. I am surprised that they didn't consider it at all. I don't mind, but I find it interesting. Actually, even in the SRD Nat 20's and Nat 1's do no...

Re: Is it just me or did the Trolls really sell well lately?

Yeah, that half price sale at NTRPG sure helped. But as I said in my introduction post, Tyler was pretty enthusiastic about the system and gave me a pretty good pitch. If I didn't already have a full docket of games, I would have signed up for a C&C game to so I could try it out. I picked up the...

New guy in the Castle

So, I was at North Texas RPG Con over this past weekend, and was perusing the booths. When I stopped at the Troll Lord Games booth, Tyler stepped out and started pitching the game to me. I had heard of Castles & Crusades, but had never really looked into it. Tyler's exuberance about the game got...
