Re: Black Friday Sales (Regular Books & PDFs)

I just ordered 2 Players Handbooks (one for each of my boys), the new Monsters & Treasure (to replace my old one, and I'll give my kids the old one) and the Codex of Aihrde at 40% off from the Trolls holiday sale. So cool!

Painted Miniatures Question

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. My boys have really gotten into Castles & Crusades and I am interested in purchasing them a painted miniature for their characters. I'm having a hard time finding a company online that has very well painted miniatures. I see them at cons all the time, but I can't see...

Black Friday Sales (Regular Books & PDFs)

I just received an interesting email from the Trolls regarding a 50% off sale for the core rulebooks and the CKG. I was wondering if there was any intent by the Trolls to create a discount for Black Friday for the standard books as well. I see RPG now (PDFs) but not the actual printed versions of th...

Re: Of Gods & Monsters Question

UPDATE: I received an email from RPGNow. They credited my account and informed me that the product that I had selected was not the book that I was expecting to purchase (I had selected an incorrect product). I was able to download the book (and am reading it now) and have a credit with the company. ...

Re: Of Gods & Monsters Question

Yes. I'm shocked as well. This shouldn't have been an .EXE. Its a bad file and installs garbage onto your machine. Thankfully I run a VM for my Windows machine and will simply roll back. I've contacted RPGnow and informed them of this issue and told them that I want my PDF. I hope that they get this...

Re: Of Gods & Monsters Question

I just picked it up via RPGnow. I'm a little confused as to why it's in a .exe file, but no big deal. My players are all craving Gods, and I plant to give it to them.

Of Gods & Monsters Question

Will Of Gods & Monsters have a Kickstarter to update the content sometime in 2016? I would like to purchase the PDF and then the hardcover once it is released but I don't want to purchase the old model if it's going to be updated soon. I would prefer to have the latest cover (I like the new ones...

Re: Pathfinder After C&C

I've said this before and i'll say it again. I was a returning old school gamer who wanted to get back into gaming. I reviewed D&D, C&C and Pathfinder. I looked into all of the systems thoroughly. My conclusion was that I wanted the game system to get out of the way and let my group play and...

I'm not interested in Brimstone at all. Gaxmoor seems of interest to me purely from an adventure standpoint.

The Codex of Aihrde. I'm starting with taking notes on the Gods as it was a massive piece missing in my campaign.

Re: Codex & PG to Aihrde

After purchasing the Codex of Aihrde in PDF format, I realized that there were supposed to be maps that came with it. I see a few of them inside of the PDF, but not separate files that I could print out. I didn't see them as part of the purchase download. Are these updated files available for downlo...

Re: GM Screen: How much is too much?

I like using a screen for quick reference, and to hide rolls that I don't want my players to see (adds dramatic effect). That being said, I am in favor of open rolls. I've also found that some of my players will pre-roll a die (say to 19) and then roll a separate die and say "I rolled a 19!&quo...

Re: Queen of the Spiders (C&C)

I'm currently running ToEE and my party just got to Hommlet. I'm finding that conversion is insanely easy thus far for 1E adventures. When I have a question about monsters, I go to the C&C Monsters & Treasures book and look up the stats and background information. I would go so far as to say...

Re: What has changed since the 4th printing?

I have to agree that one of the things I really like about C&C is that the rules don't change. The quality of the books and clarity of the rules happens from one printing to another, but the base is always the same. I'm also happy that the Trolls celebrate that fact. It's a particular strength o...

I'm not certain if I simply enjoy forums more than social media due to being old school or not, but I can say this, Twitter is NOT a great alternative to a forum. I completely agree that Twitter is best for broadcasting rather than conversation. As much as I liked it when I first started using it, I...

Re: D&D 5th Edition Discussion

I prefer to have everything in hard back if possible. I personally think that WoTC simply charges the maximum for what they can get away with. One of the reasons why I love C&C (amongst many) is that I can get the books and the PDF's for nearly the same price (or lower) than I can purchase the W...

Re: D&D 5th Edition Discussion

You have to give credit to Hickman. He created Strahd and Lord Soth. Both are truly epic characters that were very well illustrated and brought to life with outstanding background stories. I agree with you that the modules were lacking in depth and weren't very fun to play. The novels were a corners...

Re: Queen of the Spiders (C&C)

Is there a document that shows how to convert 1E to C&C anywhere? I don't recall it in the PHB or the CKG. I also didn't know that the original adventures were created in 1E and the super module was created in 2E. Is there a large difference between the two or are they basically just a combined ...

Queen of the Spiders (C&C)

Does anyone know of a Queen of the Spiders conversion that exists today? I'm mapping out my adventures for my group and even though it's relatively higher level (8-14) I would like the ability to incorporate it into my game as it's widely regarded as the greatest super adventure of all time.
