Re: How do you handle multiclass?
I have used the "multi-classes" from Astonishing Swordsmen. I just replace skill checks with C&C Siege Engine checks. I'm not familiar with that? I have the AS&SH 1E boxset but I don't see multi-class (subclass?) would love to hear more. --- As for me I ran Class-and-Half BTB thus...

Re: Looking to run some C&C
Hi -
I've had success with Facebook groups such as: Old school D&D Group Finder: 1e AD&D, 2e AD&D, BECMI, B/X and retro-clones and RPG Connection
Another guy swiped some away from a local meet-up group and also from a 5e Adventures League by posting in a game store.
Good Luck.

Re: Origins, Cleveland Concoction, & Gary CON
Level: I would say levels 7-9 or even higher. I think games below level 5 are common. Setting? Generic. And while I say that, a recent con game I was involved in was Greyhawk based and some came to the event for that very reason. Hours? While I understand 4 hours is the norm, I think 6 hours gives ...

Great 3 day convention with some Castles and Crusades games with some old TSR Modules being run such as:
T1 - Village of Hommlet (Storm the Moat House!)
G2 - The Glacial Rift of the Frost Giant Jarl

5e and PFS are still very popular here with a strong following of Magic.

I fully agree with this. This book was needed from that aspect. I am enjoying it.finarvyn wrote:I guess the best thing that I see about it is that it helps show that the game is growing and isn't stagnant. I had a similar feeling about the CKG, where I appreciate it but hardly ever use it.

Re: Spell: Wall of Thorns
it goes without saying ... take my comment with a grain of salt , It has been years since I ran or played at a level where this is the standard power of the game & it is a 'magic' question which is not my strong suite. That said, yes from back in the day I remember it (or something like it) bei...

Spell: Wall of Thorns
This is an incredibly wicked spell (or I allowed too much to happen). In running G2 Against the Giants, the druid in the party used this spell to ensnare the 14 foot tall frost giants. The damage from this spell can really wear down the hit points of a giant. Should it not be able to be cast around ...

Re: GM Hidden or Open Dice [Old Topic]?
I will roll dice behind the screen. If it’s a dire combat, both the party are coming down to the final blows, I’ll roll the dice right out across the table. For me, the referee, there has been epic fails against the party and some humbling wins.

I think we go do it. Share the idea. Create a new experience.
It's a good game and keeps things simple.
The part is giving some swag to people who play at a table and some swag to those who promote the game.

Re: Knights of the Crusade
I would like to see C&C be more popular. I really feel it's a good game.
I've introduced at least 15 people to it with conventions, etc.
Truly just like D&D was spread with playing games and word of mouth.

In watching a video of what's new with Goodman Games / GenCon 2018, they spoke about their Goodman Games World Tour 2018 / Road Crew.
They keep track of their swag and games run, etc. Has this been considered for C&C?

I would still love to get into a game with Frank Mentzer. That's the goal for me. If you really want to play with Frank, I suggest you attend Xenocon . They brought Frank in as the guest of honor a few years ago and he keeps coming back. It's a smaller con and very much focused on Pathfinder, 5E, a...

Re: Seeking help with the old modules original content
Welcome to the game... just play it by a book a few times.. see how it works, THEN convert to the game. I agree with this 100%. While there's a lot of good advice from the other posts, make it your own. It's C&C. It doesn't need to be technical. It doesn't need to be precise. Enjoy it. Change i...

Re: Upcoming Conventions
For me, a silver badge is generally the best option. I will be playing and GMing more therefore I think I will be good with a Silver. If you want to have a great con, do this: 1. Talk to the people you are playing with. Make some friends even if you have to push through natural shyness. 2. Say hi w...
