Level advancement
Hi, We've finished our fourth 3 hour-sessions and some of my players have complained about the rate of character advancement. Indeed. In four sessions, only one out of four characters has leveled up. One should level next session for sure, while the two others probably won't. Take in account that I ...

Re: Challenge Base 12/18 vs 10/15 vs ??
I use the 15/+5 rule set in Amazing Adventures. It's simple and efficient. I don't care if it's D&D-ish, especially since C&C is a d20 fantasy game whose mechanics are all inspired by D&D. I found it very confusing to have to systematically call two different target numbers each time I a...

Re: Class Abilities and the Prime Attribute
[quote="Rigon" This is how Tree does it in his games and it works out just fine. I did away with having required Primes for classes and allow anyone to attempt to use any class skill, however, the information/usage is not as in depth as that by the class to which the skill belongs. For exa...

Re: Class Abilities and the Prime Attribute
Steve, I think what you are proposing will probably lead to more confusion while not adding much to the game. Prime and Primary sound too similar. I would use the following rules: (1) Characters always add their level to siege checks. As levels are a measure of the experience of the character which ...

Re: Detail of Cities, Towns, Villages and Hamlets
Plenty of things can happen in cities: rival merchant groups might want to use the PCs as tools, an evil cult might try to seize power by corrupting high officials, a mysterious disease could hit the city, etc. Even in small hamlets, the blacksmith might be a spy for bandits that lurk in the forest....

Re: Separate XP progression
Personnaly, I would prefer a single unified XP progression. As the GM, I don't like bean-counting and would prefer simply stating that, after a long adventure, all characters gain a level. I can't really use that approach with the current XP progressions, as it nullifies the rogue's avantage of leve...

Re: Players Handbook Six
Here are two: - Explain the mechanical difference between jogging and running. If there aren't any, do not use both words, as it leads to confusion. - Make a decent and relevant weapon and armor list, with explanations as possible and less D&D-isms. Nobody knows what a bastard sword is and nobod...
