Re: Best low level spells ?

Here's some house rules for CLW: OHR#2 Divine Healing 1) Any level Cleric spell* (or memory slot) can be exchanged for a Cure Wounds "spell" at 1d8/(Cleric spell level). Ex. Any second level spell can be immediately converted to a 2d8 Cure Wounds spell. 2) Any level Druid spell* (or memor...

Re: Race as Class

I don't ever remember race as class as an option in AD&D. So for me, race as class is the weird way. I'm like Rhu, why wouldn't societies of dwarves and elves have clerics, wizards, and such? I think race as class is unnecessarily limiting and feels like a slight to the other races. R- Well act...

Re: The Book of Familiars

Is a greater familiar the same thing as an improved familiar? Two different advantages, but appear to be equivalent.

Re: The Book of Familiars

If you have the summon familiar, greater familiar, and supreme familiar figured out, can you explain some of that to me?

I had posted back in October about the improved familiar ability and got no responses.

Re: Best Weapon in the World..

The Art Institute in Chicago has several weapons where a flintlock is combined with the weapon. For example a sword that can also fire two shots, or a shield that has a short barrel in the boss to allow a single shot.

Re: Arrow defense...

I didn't see that one. But, I did see or read something about the step people (I think, it might have been Chinese or Turks) wearing silk shirts and pants like long johns for the same reason. The arrow could poke into the wearer, but not completely puncture the silk. So, it was easier to pull the a...

Re: Giant rats and disease

CKG for Haunted Highlands does have a section for a new disease - Dragon Pox.
I cannot find any other diseases listed by name though.

Improved Familiar from The Book of Familiars

Can anyone explain just what the "Improved Familiar" advantage from The Book of Familiars does? As written, it says "When choosing a familiar, the improved creatures listed in each individual class description are also available to you." The problem is that the later chapters det...

Re: TLG 8508 Jack of Lies

Here's the thing with a lot of cities, like Waterdeep or CSotIO, or even the not Gygax City of Greyhawk... you really aren't supposed to off anybody "important" in those cities. Remember when the Forgotten Realms would have stats for some big somebody like a lord or mayor and it would be ...

Re: TLG 8508 Jack of Lies

11 years in the making. Or thereabouts. I've been guiding this project for longer than my daughter has been alive! I started working on this project a long time ago with an old writing partner Shane Glodowski, just after we finished working on Bard's Gate for Necromancer Games, and before I got put...
