Awesome to hear. Let's hope that it is just the beginning of an upward trend toward normalcy.

"Rolling your own" can be very rewarding, and instructive. Grounding yourself isn't the biggest issue in my experience. It's cutting your hands on that #$%! stamped sheet metal in those narrow spaces. Best of luck!

Re: Kickstarters

I just thought I should perhaps say why I find the other-people-do-worse argument/excuse a poor one, so as to clear up any misconception that I feel perfection is a must. If all we ever do is look to other products (or people, co-workers, siblings, etc.) and say, "Well, at least I'm better than...

Re: Kickstarters

No, the point is that every single print product, from novels, to text books, to RPG products will always have errors in them, from small to occasionally big. To expect any book, let alone an RPG book, to be error free is simply unrealistic. Like I said above, if I demanded perfection from RPG's, I...

Re: Kickstarters

I'm not trying to beat a dead horse here, and I submit this respectfully as a huge fanboy, but those other products' poor editing does not excuse TLG's. I don't care about those other games. I don't play those other games. Wanting the best product possible for the system I do buy and support has not...

If you are happier without her, it's definitely the right thing to do. As to the kids, my Uncle waited until my closest cousin was 18 before divorcing my Aunt. My cousin said he wished they hadn't stayed together "for the kids" because it was such a miserable environment. You deserve to be...

Re: Kickstarters

I would actually prefer a product to be late if it will mean better editing and art. But that's just me. ;) Mike Being late with TLG on a kickstarter, does in no way improve the product or produce better editing or art. You need only open any of the 3 sisters or Aihrde to know this. TLG and editing...

Re: Kickstarters

Ok let me back up and put it this way; I think that if you are going to run multiple KS's overlapping and back to back, that you would be considered a bit more credible and honest if you deliver the completed ones within time frame you originally set. Running 2 years out is not acceptable if you st...

Re: Kickstarters

Well, that brings up another frustration I have. I have gone all in on KS's. They cost $50-$100. Then the print run happens and the books sell for $39.99 but then 1 month later I see them on sale for $29.99 or even $19.99. I feel kind of taken advantage of at that point. I feel your pain. What I ha...

Re: House rules how much do you use? do they change often?

I can't recall if all of these were house rules or they are in the PHB. Here are all of mine: 1. A roll of natural 1 on any attack or siege check automatically fails. 18. Attributes are determined by the players (Thank you, Treebore, for making me see the light). 20. A roll of natural 20 on any atta...

Re: Kickstarters

There's pros and cons. I never worry about a TLG kickstarter as far as will it be delivered. However, a big question is always when it will be delivered. Reprints?

Some of us came to the TLG party a lot later than others. I have about 6 issues of the Crusader in print. I am not a big fan of digital, so getting the rest of the back issues I need is sort of... well, I've not lost hope entirely. Are there any plans to reprint the earlier issues? I'd surely love t...

Re: Rules for Rest, Resting in Armor? Can't find it!

I'm set. I don't want to get bogged down in minutiae, one of the best reasons for using C&C! And if it's not in the rules and I was combining rules from other games and systems in my mind, I am happy to not worry about it. My players get all the near death they need from the normal encounters.

Aihrde. I enjoyed the A-series. I further enjoyed the Codex of Aihrde. My group is on A11 and after A12 we're putting the current game on pause and running a new group of characters through a homebrew series of adventures still set in Aihrde. It will run "concurrently" with the old game, a...

Rules for Rest, Resting in Armor? Can't find it!

I found the bit about rest in the PHB on page 134 regarding healing a point per day, but for the life of me, I cannot find the section about trying to sleep in armor. Can someone please point me in the right direction?
