Re: What gaming stuff are you reading?

In RPGs, I've been going through the core books for Symbaroum, Shadow of the Demon Lord, Mutant: Year Zero, and the revised Space 1889.

For miniatures its been the Frostgrave core book.

Re: Codex of Aihrde is Gorgeous! (pics)

Still waiting for my Codex collection, I'm one of the ones who pre-ordered for $150 back when the Trolls were offering it in the store. All of the pics look great, really looking forward to checking out the real deal.

Re: Spot Checks…What do You do?

Just to throw in my 2cps, I don't feel the act of spotting/noticing/perceiving requires an attribute of any sort, unless you refer to the character's physical eyesight, but I do feel wisdom is the best stat to use in conjunction with noticing things. Like others have said, I think this should just b...

Re: TLG 8126 Codex of Aihrde Pre-Order

I haven't had the opportunity to do any of the kickstarter's for C&C until now, so I went all out for the $150 package. The idea of getting to include my own swath of land in the setting is way cool, plus I'm stoked about the maps, screen and the customized journal. Really looking forward to thi...

Re: Your favorite fantasy RPGs?

Call it sacrilege, but I don't like AD&D at all. Not one bit. Look, I understand it's history and influence in the hobby I love, but AD&D is out. It's fracking terrible. I just started playing in an AD&D campaign a few weeks ago. Other than one-off games at conventions, which are a tota...

A knight and a barbarian meet in a bar...

So, I had the opportunity to join my friend Mike's C&C game, that he is running for his kids and their friends last night. I rolled up stats and in the end chose a half-Orc barbarian with INT 8, CHA 8, and the other stats average or higher. So, the CK has him waking up to the sounds of conversat...

Re: Is the Fighter Lacking?

I have played a couple of games. One of my players had the opinion that the Fighter was lacking in abilities compared to the other warrior type classes. On initial evaluation, it seemed he had a point. Any thoughts after more play? I had something similar happen with one of my players so I pulled i...

And to add to the merriment for the thread, I too agree that both the Trolls and forum are great. Maybe not as quantitative as some other forums, but it's definitely qualitative. :D

Re: How will 5e affect C&C?

Isn't 5E supposed to support all of the other editions in this one, new edition? If so, that means that 1E style characters can play with 4E style characters. Um, yeah. That sounds incredibly dumb to me. Sure, some C&Cers will go in and get into 5E. But I would expect them to return when it's r...

A new generation of Crusaders

I mentioned that I ran a C&C game a while back in a previous post. Well, one of the players recently enjoyed the game enough to buy a set of C&C, a PHB, CKG, and M&T. I stopped by his house this evening for something else, and noticed he was running a game of C&C for his two kids, on...

D&D Next seems to follow C&C for Saving Throws

Just read this over on the EN World site: Greg: Another thing we've been talking about recently is saving throws and what you guys think about them and the future of D&D? Monte: Making a saving throw against something has become something that's really a part of D&D. So again, what we've don...

My Chimera/Hybrid game

So, I ran the Umbrage Saga for my group this weekend, the first time my group had any experience playing C&C and we had a great time. Everyone enjoyed the system and look forward to playing again. But like any typical DM/GM/CK, I had to do some mad scientist experimenting and try splicing togeth...

Re: WOTC announcement today?

Well, personally, they can keep their new iteration/ edition. If anyone in my group buys into it and wants to try/run it, I'll play, but there's a 99% chance I won't even bother with it otherwise. I'm so sick of the revolving door of editions when it comes to that particular "brand name" o...

Groups first C&C sesison, running Umbrage Saga, any advice?

So, my group is finally kicking off 2012 with a C&C campaign this Saturday. I'll be running them through the Umbrage Saga Box Set starting with A1. Just curious if anyone has run across anything that they would like to make suggestions for or give advice about from A1 or any of the other adventu...

I have to say, I really liked the flick. I had heard a lot of bad about the movie after it came out and avoided it for a long time, but finally curiosity got the better of me. I watched it with the intent of it disappointing me, but as it turns out I really liked it. The underlying story, the use of...

Re: Shaking up the Ranger and starting gold for some classes

Yeah, ringmail I was somewhat iffy on, my biggest concern was it getting caught up while moving quietly, especially in a heavily forested area. But that was the least of the armors I was concerned with.

Shaking up the Ranger and starting gold for some classes

Was doing some reading the last few days in my Player's Handbook while gearing up to start a new campaign. But a couple things stuck out that I plan to change and was wondering what others thought about the changes I had in mind. Some of the Ranger armor allowance seems, strange. I'm planning to dro...

Awesome. Seeing this reminds me of the first time I watched Basic D&D being played. Of the older kids playing, there were three players running two characters apiece, and one guy as DM.

My question is, when are you going to tell the part of the story about the group of pesky kids that always show up with that little guy in the red robe, always shooting her with energy bolts and what-not?

I don't play clone systems, it's just easier to run the original or C&C instead, but if I had to choose one, I think S&W would be the pick.

Official C&C Demoing?

I've recently considered running some demos for C&C at my two local shops, hopefully widening the horizons and breaking the monotony that is 4E, M:tG and the multitude of miniatures that usually hog the spotlight, and was wondering if there is any "offical" TLG organization/support for...
