Re: Castle of the Mad Archmage to be published...
Also, have you considered releasing the levels as on module at a time, soft cover or PDF? That way there is as long a wait or those using Castle Zagyg can just get the levels we interested in? Thanks! At the moment, I think the focus is on the hardcover/slipcase version. I will leave it to the good...

Re: Castle of the Mad Archmage to be published...
If you go to my blog, over in the "free downloads" section, you'll find a link to the free pdf version of the dungeon, which has levels 2 through 13. It includes maps, although a link to poster-versions of the maps are also available right below the first link. The print version will include everyth...

Re: Castle of the Mad Archmage to be published...
That would be Richard Graves, who published his level under the title "The Mad Demigod's Castle" in 2009 (after I asked him not to use "Castle of the Mad Archmage"). He goes by the name "Rath" over at DF. I never looked much past the cover, myself, but it seems like he only did level 1, not the surf...

Re: Castle of the Mad Archmage to be published...
I saw the first and second levels and thought they were OK, not my cup of tea May I ask how? As far as I'm aware the only people who have seen them are myself and the folks at BB. If you're referring to the levels that were done as a sort of adjunct to the Castle of the Mad Archmage by a third part...

<r>I was in during the mid-late 80's and early 90's; Barony of Settmour Swamp and Barony of Carolingia (both in the Kingdom of the East). I always made a point of going to the dance practices; great place to meet girls. <br/> I keep meaning to get back into it, but just don't have the time nowadays....

I got "Saga of the Witch Queen" in hard copy and it seemed very good. I haven't run it yet, but just as a read-through it was quite interesting.

C&C vs. AD&D
<t>Okay...<br/> <br/> So I am familiar with the arguments as to why C&C is better than D&D3.x, and most of the few other alternatives out there. But here's one I've not yet heard.<br/> <br/> How is C&C demonstrably superior to AD&D? It certainly can't compete for "old school" street ...

<t>I dunno... I don't care so much about the edition of the rules so much as the setting they support. I haven't bought any 3.x stuff, and won't be buying any 4.x stuff. I would absolutely love it if they would stop messing up my beloved World of Greyhawk. But I suppose that's too much to ask; they'...

<t>A friend of mine had a copy of Avalon Hill's "Tactics II" in her house tucked away amongst years-old magazines, and we started to play it (we must've been around 7; this was back in the early 1970's). Hackmaster?
See, I've been out of gaming too long. I just stumbled across something called Hackmaster that seems to be laying claim to the same "old school goodness" territory as C&C.
Anybody able to tell me some of the differences between the two?
