Re: What are you reading?
Started reading Empire of Imagination, the Gygax biography. So far it's a really interesting read. The novel-like tone is a bit off-putting at first, but the author sounds like he really did his research. I'm reading it now and so far, so good! :) Yeah, I really liked this, I burned through it in j...

Re: Differing book sizes across the line
Yeah, the two of the three sisters that are already out are different sizes, so that slipcase won't be nice and snug. I wonder if the upcoming chubby sister will be different from the other two.

Differing book sizes across the line
Greetings, Hope this doesn't start a flame war: Kickstart pledge and long time supporter of the Trolls, here. Not trying to be an ass, but does this aggravate anyone else here? (see the attached file) How does this happen, especially when TLG has complete control and even prints their own books in m...

Merging C&C and GUMSHOE
Greetings, fellow Crusaders, Has anyone thought about, or tried to implement, a mashup of C&C and GUMSHOE in the same manner that was done with Pathfinder to create Lorefinder? I think this could really work out. Anyone have any thoughts? Are there supplemental rules in Amazing Adventures that w...

Re: Kindle ??
LOL -- I probably posted a question too early, and I probably should have posted it in this thread first -- I am looking for the CKG in ePub format: http://trolllord.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=12797

CKG in ePub format?
I purchased the CKG from drivethrurpg in PDF format and I have put it on my nook Simple Touch. It is a little awkward to read on there. I have tried to convert it using Calibre, and it doesn't really do all that well (missing text, weird capitalizations, TOC is broken). I wouldn't mind paying more f...

Wilderness Survival
So, I am a fan of some of the content in the AD&D Wilderness Survival Guide. I have also read some of this kind of stuff in the CKG in chapter 5. However, the CKG doesn't have the level of detail in some of the stuff that I want, that's where the WSG can fill in the gaps. Does anyone have any ex...

Weight of Bullets for Sling
OK, so the Arms & Armor supplement says that a sack of 20 sling bullets weighs .5 lbs I am thinking this is a little light since they are 3 inch long lead bullets. The D20 SRD says that 10 bullets are 5 lbs, which I think is *way* too heavy, especially for something that gets destroyed on impact...

Encumbrance (don't groan at *me*, young man!)
Preface: I am using the 4th printing rules, and I know the 5th printing has updated encumbrance rules, but I don't have those :) I know encumbrance has been a much debated topic, and a search of the forum brings up some interesting conversations -- and I know the Trolls said "Just use some comm...

Does the PRIMEVAL INSTINCTS bonus stack?
Subject kindof says it all, but, here's my question:
Does the +4 bonus provided by PRIMEVAL INSTINCTS stack with other attribute modifiers?

Mapping
I can't find any reference/guidance in regards to players doing their own mapping in my 4th printing C&C PHB, so I figure I would ask you guys. I am very "Old School" in my thoughts about this: I believe that players (or at least a designated player, who gets an XP bonus for doing it) ...

Anyone Interested in Playing Some Savage Worlds Online?
Hey guys, I have been begging around other forums and I think I have mustered up three players (not including myself) for an online game in a yet-to-be-determined fantasy setting using Savage Worlds. We plan on meeting after 8:30PM or so Eastern/US time on some day during the week (we haven't landed...

Re: Dawnforge: Crucible of Legend Conversion?
I was more trying to see if anyone had any info before I gave it a shot. As far as balance goes, I am not sure that the setting/options themselves actually had a lot of balance to them. Are you saying I should try to balance them out? I worry that the racial transformations will not scale well with ...

Re: Myth & Magic (2e retro) Kickstarter
Even if I don't end up playing a game of this, I will definitely toy with the idea of adding the crit system to my game: If someone rolls a Natural 20, you roll an additional d6 and add a secondary effect: 1 - Right Arm: -1 to attack rolls 2 - Left Arm: -1 to attack rolls 3 - Right leg: -1 to AC and...

Re: Myth & Magic (2e retro) Kickstarter
I love goodman games, but i agree that requiring funky dice in their new system is a little silly.
More on topic: I tool a look at the Myth and Magic stuff, and I have to say I kinda like it. I may even throw some money at them. I have a mushy soft spot for 2nd Ed.

I am glad someone else has had problems with this. This kind of stuff is the main reason why I use this instead of what's in M&T:

Dawnforge: Crucible of Legend Conversion?
I apologize in advance if this is the wrong place to post this:
Does anyone have any advice for converting Dawnforge for play with C&C? I really like the idea and have the books, but I can't see me having the patience to run a straight D20 game of it. Besides, I like C&C a LOT better

Re: A quasi-stupid question: age for play
Well, YMMV, but my 9 year old isn't having any problems. You may want to "start small" by using something like Harvesters (think C&C-lite with bunnies and badgers). You could also test the waters with something like Dungeon Squad! http://www.1km1kt.net/rpg/dungeon_squad.pdf

So, should I roll up a Paladin or a Fighter to round out the party just in case? I don't want to butt in, but I want to be prepared in case this works out

Did you hear anything back? Should I be making a character? If so, what is needed in the party?
