Re: Amazing Adventures available in stores?
Can this be ordered from the major distributors yet? I'd love to place an order with my FLGS.

Re: C&C Players Handbook, 5th Printing (Preorder)
Ah, good news about the Barbarian, I like that class!
I still feel the fighter could use just a little more omphh, although I know he /she does have the best combat bonus progression. Oh well, guess that's what house rules are for!

Re: C&C Players Handbook, 5th Printing (Preorder)
Did I read somewhere that you might be changing up the Barbarian again for the 5th printing? I was pretty happy with the 4th Printing version, but of course that doesn't mean it can't be better. Any ideas on what might be different? Of did I read this wrong? Any chance of giving the fighter a bit mo...

Has anyone used Catfolk in C&C? I'm curious how to handle the conversion.

Re: TLG 8125 Classic Monsters (Available)
Just picked this up from my FLGS (they ordered it for me) and I have to say I'm very impressed with the quality of this book! The construction seems much more solid than the CKG, and I just plain like the glossy cover look better than the matte. Love most of the monster treatments (although I do kin...

The Mana system was one of my favorite rules from the CKG, actually... I definitely plan to use it if I ever get a C&C game off the ground!

Re: Hello! First post in the forum, and a question.
Also, remember bonuses are a lot harder to come by in C&C than in other D20 systems... the fighter, with his weapon specialization and higher BAB is almost always going to have a better chance of hitting opponents than anyone else. That being said, I also think that the CKG Advantages rules help...

Class and a half question
Quick question: The class and a half rules state that a character uses the best BTH bonus of the two classes. However, I'm not sure if this is based on adjusted level or not. For instance, does 4th level wizard / 2nd level fighter gain the attack bonus of a 4th level fighter? Or a second level fight...

There's a pirate class in the C&C Freeport Companion, but to be honest, I think the way you wrote Belit here seems closer to the character.

Best psionics system for C&C
I've read several threads about various options for using Pisonics in Castles & Crusades... everything from the old AD&D Complete book of psionics, to the 3rd party "Complete Book of the Mind", old Dark Sun material, and various fan made supplements... just curious, has anyone actu...

Re: So... Combat Dominance, what's it good for?
I think the last post hit the nail on the head... if you have a fighter with Combat Dominance, then just be sure to throw some "horde" type encounters their way every so often. As someone else already mentioned, C&C's reduced attribute bonuses and to hit bonuses mean that large numbers...

Re: ICharacter Sheet ~ Castles & Crusades
I bought the windows version, and I agree, it definitely needs some kind of print / pdf support. If native PDF support is the problem, maybe it could export to Open Office, which includes it's own pdf writer, or something similar? It would be great if the various class abilities could be automatical...

Re: John Carter of Mars ... Using C&C
Actually, I'm working on a setting now that is heavily influenced by Barsoom (it's more fantasy than sword and planet, but I;m trying to feature very alien monsters, no orcs or goblins, savage Red Elves in a lost city, dying world kind of feel, etc.)

Re: Adding level to Attribute checks
Absolutely, I get that part... I guess the part that confuses me is when do you allow characters to add their level to the check, and when do you not? If a 5th level fighter is trying to roll across the floor, does he get to add +5 to his roll?

Adding level to Attribute checks

I understand not adding it when trying abilities that belong to another class, but what about general situations, like swimming, knowledge, acroba...

Re: PRoblem with Secondary Skills in CKG
Yeah, I was thinking of either adding the 1/2 level, or, allowing to add level +1, whenever level would normally be appropriate. It seems to me that the intention of the Player's Handbook is to add level to all checks that aren't abilities of other classes... or instance, in the example they give, a...

PRoblem with Secondary Skills in CKG
I like the idea of Secondary SKills (we definitely used to use them in 1e) But I'm not quite understanding the way they are presented in the CKG. According to the book, they give a +1 to Attribute checks when the secondary skill is used. However, it also says you do not add your level bonus to secon...

If you choose a spell that has a reverse effect, such as "Cure Light Wounds" and "Cause Light Wounds", do you automatically get both effects, or do you have to choose them separately, as individual spells?

Re: Armor as Damage Reduction, CKG question:
I definitely agree... I've been wanting to run a more Sword & Sorcery style game, and I thought the DR rules might give it that kind of feel. But I agree, in general, C&C's strength is its smooth, minimal rules.
