Re: Independence day weekend cons

That's what I'm afraid of. My wife is taking a girls only weekend with some of her friends from work and I had hoped I could take advantage of her being away from the house.
I figured everyone will be wore out from Origins, but I would settle for any kind of event at the moment.

Independence day weekend cons

I was just wondering if anyone is aware of an gaming, scifi or steampunk cons in the Tex-Ark-Homa area? I may have an opportunity to get out and check one out, but I can't seem to find one.

Re: Sooner Con

I had a great time at Soonercon. I sat in on two C&C games ran by Dark Okie and we had a lot of fun.
I Just wanted to thank him for his hospitality and CKing skills.
I posted some pics on Facebook from the game.

Re: Sooner Con

Dark Okie I was just wondering when we are playing and how to find you when I get there.
I'm really looking forward to the event and getting to know a fellow C&C fan.
Do I need to roll up a character or will you be using pregen characters?

Re: Sooner Con

I plan on being there at one and may be looking for a cheap place to crash Friday night if you know of such a place. I have vacation time reserved for the weekend and I plan to stay for most of Saturday as well.

Dark Oakie I just wanted to let you know that my son won't be making the trip to Soonercon. He has a school trip that weekend.

Re: Sooner Con

Great, I have to see if I can get off that Friday, shouldn't be a problem. let me know the time. My son will probably come with me.

I may not be able to stay for Saturday as work may require my time that day, so a Friday game sounds awesome.

Re: Troll Con Little Rock 2011 Dates

Looks like Ben & I won't make it this year. I'm up against the wall to schedule my vacation and couldn't wait any longer. :( Hopefully things can get sorted out a bit earlier next year, without the gorilla of the CKG on everyone's back. Unfortunately, I'm becoming pressed for time as well. Hopefull...

Re: Troll Con Little Rock 2011 Dates

I hate to be a bother, but I am just so antsy and very anxious for the wonderful time that is to be had at this year's Trollcon. When do you guys usually set the date for Trollcon?

Re: Sooner Con

I would hate for someone to go out of their way. I was just going to try to join one if it was available. I plan on running a game that weekend, but using a system called Fortune and Power. I am not comfortable enough to run a C&C game yet, but that could change between now and June. Trust me I wou...

Re: Sooner Con

I'm fairly new to the game, but I have been running other games for several years.
I might be able to swing by Soonercon and would be willing to run a game preferably on a Saturday, but might could do a Friday game.

Re: Skobbits brought to life

Thanks. It's just a first draft and I would love some input. I may write for a living, but fictional prose is a lot different than writing a recap of a football game or a city council meeting. lol The story isn't really set in the C&C world, but it could be with a little tweaking. (I could trash the...

Re: Skobbits brought to life

I have written a prelude to my story and would like to have someone read over it. If anyone is interested let me know and I will email it to you. It is a little over 2000 words, or I would just post it here.

Re: Skobbits brought to life

I heard mention of the game at last year's Trollcon and I have had those pesky little bugggers stuck in my head ever since. (kinda like lice lol) I would love to hear more of the game. I once played a redneck troll in Shadowrun named Cletus Ledbetter. He was probably the funnest character I have eve...

Re: Skobbits brought to life

thanks, that's a good start.
I believe my protagonist in the story will be a skobbit by the name of Clevis Bobblewood. I can work the other names into the story as I go.

Skobbits brought to life

I am thinking about writing some short prose, that may turn into something longer, involving the beloved Skobbits. (the fictional kind, not the little rugrats running around the conventions) Any ideas on the best location or even ideas for names? I like to dabble in short stories that tend to be pre...
