Re: The Jester for C&C
I actually like the one in Colin Chapman's free pdf "Colin Sez" the best. It's more in line with C&C concepts and rules.

TONIGHT "THE WIZARD'S TOWER" AT 4PM PACIFIC
THE WIZARD'S TOWER -The story so far On the outskirts of the Haunted Forest there lays a town call Rest Haven. It's a town whose sole purpose is a rest point along the trade route that runs paralleled to the Forest. There have been several groups of adventurers who have been caught up in the strange...

Re: What to Do About Magic
Personally I don’t see arcane magic having drastic impact on society as healing magic, because there were always people with a lot more power than others. In a world of wizards siege equipment and knights would be less valuable. Wizards would rise in the social ranks very quickly. But that is not m...

Re: What to Do About Magic
I like the thinking about the impact of magic on society. I've thought that the existence of any sort of high magic environment would result in either slowing or halting of technological development (what use is the creation of electricity when arcane energy is sustainable, clean-burning, and alrea...

Re: What to Do About Magic
Nightstorm, The only thing I really don't like about your system, is your adding in not only a second opportunity for a spell to fail (fail to cast it, or target makes save and is totally unaffected, for most spells. Obviously not the case for Fireball, etc...) but then if they fail bad enough, and...

What to Do About Magic
What to Do About Magic Ever since I started playing Dungeons and Dragons in the late 70’s, I was perplexed about Magic in the setting. Just what, if anything, does Magic do to the everyday life of the people of the world and to the world itself? In a magical world, do things like disease and death ...

Re: Hide alignment?
In my games, since I started playing sometime in the early 70's I've always house ruled that detect evil/good only worked if the being was INTRICATELY evil/good ie demons, devas etc Humans , elves beings with free will can not be "detected".

Re: Illusions- which way is it???
I've decided I hate the Illusion idea and I'm making them mages that deal with "otherworldly" power ie from the planes of shadow, time, fey. I think a save is only in need if it affects the mind outright (like charm which no matter the class would require a throw) or area affects for half ...

Illusions- which way is it???

Re: Rounds and Turns have me confused. I think.
All the more reason for the confusion. Again it's. D20 based and it would be less confusing to do it the d20 way.

Rounds and Turns have me confused. I think.
So this game is a simplified d20(with primes and secondary thrown in). But as I was looking over the rules section I noticed this: SHIELD, Level 1 wizard CT 1 R see below D 1 tn/lvl . SV n/a SR no Comp V, S Now by this time I have played this game on and off for about three years. This showed me tha...

Re: Prime and Secondary
Oh I understand. As I'm reading the pdf, it seems that a book with an example of the three or so types of settings in the book should be published. I think it will help in getting people to wanting to play it. I think it's a hard decision in which way to go. Do you go historical, but all the fantast...

Re: Prime and Secondary
I like the base 15 myself. The more I see of Amazing Adventure I can see it's rules showing up in the next C&C edition. Now correct me if I'm wrong, but do you always add your character level or do you not when it's secondary? The only time you don't add character level is when you are attempti...

seems like we both got it wrong EMPATHY: A half-elf’s uncanny ability to empathize with others is reflected in a +2 bonus to all charisma checks. This ability can be combined with attribute check modification. ATTRIBUTE CHECK MODIFICATION: The human lineage is reflected in a greater versatility than...

Prime and Secondary
I read where prime gives you a +5 and that the base is 15.
1. Why is this different from the 15 +3/-3 in the CKG?
2. Where is the part about secondary? Is it a -5?

Re: Starting a game in San Diego
I thought I would update this. We are still playing and now have 6 players! Though two of them are hit and miss and one of the two will be gone at the end of December. So there's still room. It's been fun playing in this game.

Re: Pictures for my upcoming Castles and Crusades Game
Well, I've been busy lately. Not certain if all of these are new here, but they are one's that are in my head right now. Been playing the tiefling D'arcon in my sunday C&C game. But now I'm thinking of a new character. Not certain which if any of these will be the one. Sir Byron Darkholme - huma...

I meant that if one prime is charisma, then it's 3+2 (if more human than elf) for a +5 on all charisma checks.

Re: 1/2 elves on the 15/+3 / -3 rule
hummmm that makes playing a half elf second only to a human (perhaps even better in ways.
prime char +3+2=5
another prime
and then a non prime that's -1 instead of -3 right?

1/2 elves on the 15/+3 / -3 rule
So if I decide to do the 15 base +3/-3 rule in the CKG, what about the 1/2 elf +2 attribute bonus? Does it stay or do you do something different?
