Re: Book of Familiars

Just pulling your twigs Tree. You've had some pretty interesting house rules threads on here for a long time. As with all our non-core products all rules are optional and their use is at the whim and will of the GM. As it was meant to be!

Re: Book of Familiars

I hear ya. Like I said we may have missed a couple here and there. C&C for example doesn't have "dires" so no doubt the "Barbarian" boar was supposed to be a "dire" version from the original manuscript, which would make it "greater". Again, things like tha...

Re: Book of Familiars

Ya know, converting anything from 3.x to anything is a chore. Converting several authors writing and intent is an even greater chore. Nobody ever gets 100% correct INCLUDING Paizo, S&W, Goodman, and Wizards of the Coast to name a few. I know that WOTC's "Final" PHB for 3.5 still had ab...

Re: Haunted Highlands CK Guide is a monster!

Looks like peter and I miscommunicated on a couple of maps, they are getting put back in as we speak. Part of the problem has been (personally) my family has been trying to sell our house and move for the past 9 months. When having showings things get put places and misplaced or stuffed into storage...

Re: An update on Return to the Haunted Highlands Kickstarter

I just wanted to add from Steve's recent posts that I am within a couple of days of having the DB9 turned in. Sorry for the delay, we were victims of our own success on this in that I had about half of DB9 done but never expected that the kickstarter would go as high as it did... thanks for that! Hu...

DB 8=Mists of Mantua, so Mantua itself is described. DB 7= Duchy of Karbosk so it goes over the rest of the villages and ruins of the Duchy which was introduced in some detail in DB 4-5. The Gazetteer covers alot of info on the terrain areas between the two. For example the Fander Range of Mountains...

Re: lack lustor missle damage

KaiserKris. I'm with you on that. Another option (though probably broken) would be to allow additional attacks per dex bonus point in exchange for losing dex bonus "to hit", or even taking a penalty for the additional shots but your also talking a 6 second round right? (Or do I have system...

Re: lack lustor missle damage

Silly, and historically ludicrous (no offense). Despite its awesomeness, The English still lost battles when they had the longbow in their service, and in some cases they lost to guns. Once this started happening they got wind and switched to the guns as well because they realized what everyone else...

Re: lack lustor missle damage

The common tactic as I got it from the chief chef and bottle washer at the Roadhouse is to use caltrops to agitate its multiple legs then spear it in the back of the head with reach weapons to avoid damaging any of the good loin cuts. :)

Before this turns hostile let me state: Beef Wellington is delicious. I have a recipe for Basilisk similarly prepared in the "Dirty Bowbe's Roadhouse Recipes" cook book ;)

Re: lack lustor missle damage

Arduin... the old brown bess was a lot more accurate than you may have been led to believe. I know old timers like my dad and some of his friends who hunt with non rifled Italian replicas to this very day. Inside of 25 yards they are quite accurate, out to 50 yards are still serviceable as a hunting...

Re: lack lustor missle damage

Yup. :) My only exception is that a 7/10ths inch round ball hitting you anywhere on the body within defined fantasy RPG ranges of engagement is going to leave a hole in someone big enough to clearly see through... and grapeshot being like 10 of those? That is why I gave a D8 to the smoothbore round ...

Re: lack lustor missle damage

Arrows historically are one of the worst ways to die in combat because you don't usually die "instantly" even from a "fatal" shot. You die from bleeding out, shock, or sepsis...or multiple arrows which attribute to the above 3. Native Americans using a version of a composite type...

Re: Anyone else feeling spammed by TLG?

The unfortunate side effect of any sort of Kickstarter type campaign is the (unintended) over-saturated load of information that gets pushed off on our most loyal and faithful fans. It is also the biggest drawback of how most automated systems delivery systems work. I have to put up with the same th...

Omote have heart! This is me we are talking about! Yeah its going to probably be October, but with the exception of a few hypothesized maps 99% of the writing is DONE. I'm still writing because I want to add as much content to this puppy in the interim time as I can to give you folks your $$ worth f...

Bug away at the Steve! It would be good to get it all in one spot. It gets hard for me to find questions and stuff. It's not that I'm rude, ungrateful, or dismissive about anything haha! If i don't find things or can't reply its because I can't... or I am SUPER busy! I teach full time between August...

The cookbook... isn't really a cookbook, not exactly. I didn't want to spill the beans before the KS and what not because you never know who is watching (naming no names of nefarious operators who would put up a pdf tomorrow on DTRPG tomorrow... but we all know there are people out there who would)....

Re: TLG 8508 Jack of Lies

What level did you jump in at? If you went the $20 route thats print book only, $10 route is PDF only... $30 is the print+pdf... if you went above that you should have got the PDF too. Everything above that gets the EPUB (PDF) and all the goodies like the maps/map packet at some level. If you went a...
