Find Gaxmoor on the map Cap...then go east towards the ocean. Kareelia is between the east mountain range and the ocean area with the Twilight Woods to the south.

Re: Still Alive...but need a Cure Disease!

Okay...heading into the endgame with this cancer thing finally. Lung tumor surgery is happening on the 20th Oct. Only about 10% from the upper bit to be removed. Once that tumor is gone, all done. No chemo necessary according to my oncologist unless the blood work and such come up nasty. Just period...

Re: Giant Scorpions in C&C?

If I remember right, the giant scorpion was in one of the modules or supplements; never in any of the main books. If you have the Amazing Adventure Manual of Monsters, it has an entry for Giant Scorpion.

Re: Giant Scorpions in C&C?

One thing that has been missed a lot is that Scorpions can detect invisible and hidden corporeal creatures. Anything that disturbs the air. Quote from zoology: "Scorpions have such sensitive hairs on their pedipalps that they can even locate and snap up an insect in flight." If you can't f...

Re: About new players, the CKG wastage rules and other considerations - long post

Just an option: A simple simple way to deal with armor and weapons is to just assign them a durability rather than rolling a saving throw for them every time. This can be something as simple as using their max damage/AC bonus modified for enchantment. Example: A typical longsword of average quality ...

Re: Still Alive...but need a Cure Disease!

Update: I'm healing up really well. If not for the visible evidence I'd be hard pressed to believe I was opened up like a Christmas goose. lol Down side though; the pathology came back positive on the lymph nodes taken out along with the tumor one. So it is confirmed stage IV cancer and I'm likely l...

Re: Mystery at Mofurt

As the author, yeah...I've ran the original version a few times. :) It's a stand alone starter module with a hook or three that can be developed into full blown campaigns should the GM want to expand on them. Hence the amount of background and detail provided (which one minimalist reviewer griped ab...

Re: "D&D" Castle/Fortress Guide books

Simple means to prevent walls being scaled; build an sloped overhang with murder holes and oil spouts so archers can shoot down etc while having a roof overhead to protect vs aerial spell fire and such. Mages and heavy missile weapons would be in the tops of towers to provide additional covering fir...

UPDATE: First surgery done; two abdominal tumors removed along with a bit of my small intestine. Doc said all went really well; no signs of further spread there; and am now home recovering. Almost no pain unless moving or sitting up. Dressing off tomorrow (sun the 14th) and staples come out on the 2...

Re: Still Alive...but need a Cure Disease!

Three CT scans later: Relatively good news. Only three spots of cancer; the primary mass at the end of my small intestine, a smaller mass at a lymph node adjacent, and a small mass in my upper left lung. All operable with a 90% prognosis of full recovery. Just waiting to for a surgery date. Then it'...

Re: How to cure an Undead

Funny you mention that Serl. I just ran across a manga yesterday where the Hero is killed by a curse from the Demon Lord. Rather, not so much killed as cursed with undead status so he is effectively a zombie (which makes touching his holy avenger, saintess fiance, and dealing with healing/holy magic...

Re: How to cure an Undead

Raise Dead cast upon an undead destroys them instantly per the book.

Resurrect if you want them back in the same body. Reincarnation if just wanting them back to life in some manner.

Wish and Alter Reality could also be used but with far more risk to the caster.

Giants. All of the myths, legends, stories, art books, etc. speak of fantastically tall creatures that are capable of wrestling dragons to submission, stepping over several houses in a single stride, and towering above even the tips of ancient redwood trees. So large that when they sleep they are mi...

Re: Burning Oil AND Quicksand

If it's Naptha or a light oil (which will float on the quicksand and burn) all it will need is an ignition source. magnesium dust floating on oil will also make a nice little firebomb in a container (which if is clay embedded with sharp metal bits, makes a poor man's grenade). The pit and oil from a...

Re: Question / Discussion about Delay Poison

The original intent of the spell from wAAAAaaay back when, was to delay the onset of the damage and status debuffs (to use a term) hopefully allowing the poisoned person(s) to reach help or apply treatment. Not actually nullify the damage and debuffs in and of itself, all of which would have hit aft...

Re: Question / Discussion about Delay Poison

Only experience I have with it is under 2e AD&D rules. However, as I read the above description; the poison air damage between the time of initial exposure and the Delay Poison imbibing would be waiting to slam the PC. Any exposure after that, since it states that the poison does not affect the ...

Great, so I guess for calculating XP value I need to add the value for level of spells in categories I - 1-3d level, II - 4-7 lvl, III - 8-9 lvl. Hmmm...I've always just used the highest value for spells used. So if it can use 8th level spells add a single cat. III xp value. Though I admit it could...

Re: Magic Dragons

The easiest and fastest way would be to simply grant the Dragon in question the ability to cast spells as a "casting class" of equal level to their HD; or if that is too much, 1/2 of their HD; and restrict them from using spells opposing their primary element. (ie. A Red (fire) can't use i...

Though it does note that Undead are *immune* to stun, paralysis, disease, mind affecting, and a host of other status conditions per the M&T. Also, doesn't touching undead with a holy symbol inflicts damage as if it were holy water in most cases which would automatically break the stun since it p...
