setting sticky posts

Post by DMMike »

Who do I talk to about getting the errata thread in the Victorious forum as a sticky? I went looking through the list of admins and the latest one of them signed on was 2015?

Mike, wondering where all the admins have gone...?

Mike, I attempted to sticky it, but was unable to figure it out. Sorry.

So, who's the current admin of the forums?

I feel like the Trolls have moved on to Facebook or something. I think they pay for this forum for the 12 of us who still show up but they don't actively do anything here anymore.

I suspect that is cruely, cruely true. <sigh>

I'm proud to be among the 12 though!

Navigate to the forum in question. Open the Moderator Control Panel. Check the box for the thread (it is the "Mark" column). At the very bottom there is a "Select desired action" drop down menu. Choose 'Change to "Sticky"' and then click Submit.

I think that does it.

Also, you might want to add Mike to the moderators of that forum. I mean, he should be. Likewise Jason should be for AA if not already.

Thanks Serl. I would add Mike and Jason, but that is beyond my power.

I apparently do not have the power to sticky either. It is not one of my options in the drop down.

Hmm. Well, that sucks. I figured if you could delete posts and users then you would have more powers.

I can only look at the limited tool set available to me for the Keeper's Advice section. Maybe Finarvyn (Marv?) can do it? I dunno.

...and there's no point in even trying to talk to the Trolls about it until after GenCon. <sigh>

Mike, waiting for later in the month to bug Steve!

So lets suppose I have access to do such things...It possible you now have full moderate access to that forum. But it is also possible you don't you should try it. :)

If any of the other moderates are laking permissions let them speak up and/or get Steve's blessing and I might be able to fix it. (Or not, you never know)

Well, I know I can't sticky things, since I tried for Mike.

Hmmm... Forum Moderators can't seem to set sticky. Odd I'll take another look and see if we can grant that ability to the Mods.

Added: I think I fixed it. It's buried under Permissions -> User Forum Permissions -> DMMike / Full Control / Apply

He should now be able to Moderate the Victorious Forum and like serleran said you "Mark" the thread and pull down the menu at the bottom you should have more options now.

Ok, I *think* I was able to sticky the errata thread. Fingers crossed!

I have the ability to sticky posts. (I don't think that it's a new power for me here, but I moderate several boards and maybe I'm getting them confused.)
