Fantastic, Mike!!!

Congrats.

Very interesting to see that Kevin Crawford won this award in 2012 for "Stars Without Number".

Fabulous game that Penny-whistle ran for Aergraith, myself and another fellow prior to me running Victorious for them.

Great recognition and forward movement for Victorious!

Well done, I say.

Thanks, and even if V doesn't win I'm glad to be among the finalists. The other contenders are quite good products, as I reviewed Heroes Journey with Liz and Jim on one of our last episodes of Save or Die. Its a great game, and no shame to lose to it IMO if that's what happens. :)

I am obviously biased, but all around, as a product, Victorious is the best nominee.
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

Thanks, the support is appreciated! The winner will be announced at this year's North Texas RPG Con in June, so we'll have to be patient a bit longer... :)

Is there any way we can vote or anything to help you come out on top ?

No, I believe the board, usually around 5 members, decide. They are always industry people, such as James Ward, Jeff Dee, and many others over the years.

Yeah, and the judges are secret until the award is given for a particular year. I was one of the judges a few years ago, so I kinda know the procedure even if I don't know the judges.

But thanks for the vote of support Lurker!

GM Mike, hoping GaryCon this weekend will take his mind off waiting! :)

We won

Post by DMMike »

Pardon the shameless self-promotion, but Victorious won the Three Castles RPG Design Award for 2017. I'm floored and humbled, since the honor is doubly overwhelming due to the very excellent competition (Heroes Journey, Maze of the Blue Medusa, and Treasure Vaults of Zadabad).

Its one thing to win against average competition, something else again to win with masterful competitors!

Shameless self promotion? For heaven's sake sir, you've earned every bit of that shameless self promotion. You should be duly chuffed at this most splendid award, and should request the award be presented on the front cover of future copies of Victorious. ;)

TL; DR: Congrats man. Enjoy the limelight, as you earned it.

Thanks guys, its still a bit overwhelming!

Trav, funny you should mention that. BadMike told me they have a graphic I can use on any Victorious reprints that state it was the 2017 3C winner.

Now, will Steve want to use it? That's the question! ;)

You'll have to ask him on that one, but I don't see though why he wouldn't. It's free publicity, and might boost sales of Victorious in the short term as well.

Yes! You got me!

But, did you know that the Rhuveinian walrus is the mascot of the Scotland Yard? And . . he works undercover (he is a master of disguise)!

You probably didn't notice, but the other day when Holmes and Watson were chasing Moran through the streets of London ~ the coachmen was . . none other than, The Walrus (his mustache was the clue)!

Hmm, he needs a name. Sebastian?

...now Liz is bugging me to finally break down and get a fireplace mantle. Guess we'll have to now!
