Looking for a Sunday game to join.

Post by Scitzz »

Howdy. Been playing C&C on Saturday nights in "Rappan Athuk" since last winter with some other forum members here. You can find my chronicles of our adventures in this board.

I had a Monday night face to face game that has basically dissolved since there were only 3 of us and 1 is moving many many hours and states away. So I am looking for another game! Sunday night is great for me, but I am not completely married to the day, it just is ideal. Afternoon or even better, evening. I am in North Carolina USA, so I am on EST and we do use daylight savings time.

I have been told there are a couple of rotating games on Sunday nights, that I might ask to join, but I figured I would post here so as to not be "inviting myself" into someones game. IF you have room for another player, please let me know. I am fairly consistent although I do have some weekend activities at different points in the year. Usually 10-12 weekends a year are taken up with car meets or rocket launches, but the rest I am pretty much at home already so an online game is perfect.

I have skype account, and I think I setup a discord account a while back. Also Team Speak. Hangouts. Open to whatever works for your group. On Roll20 I am Paul S.

My play style is not completely evolved yet. I played a few games of AD&D in my teens then never could find another game. I am in my mid forties now, all my children are grown, and I have been embracing my inner geek. I tend to take detailed notes during game play that keeps me centered on the game and keeps me from being distracted. I am willing to share the notes or keep them to myself whichever works best. I am still experimenting with different race and class combos, always willing to take on something new, I like a challenge. So far I have played a female half orc fighter, a male half elf ranger and currently a gnome assassin.

Also, I have been talking to the GM from my Monday game and he is thinking of joining the forum and possibly finding a game as well, but that will be in the future.

Thanks in advance for your consideration!

Hi Scitzz.

You would be welcome to join our game on Sunday evenings.

Penny
Aergraith
Gringnr

Right now, I'm finishing up a module I've written and then Aergraith is going to run his world of Xyll for awhile.

Gringnr has run some non C&C games that have been very fun (the last one was on the bizarre side, but very wild and fun nonetheless).

For tonight's game, should you decide to accept our invitation - you can play an NPC or roll up a new char.

Rhu. :)

OK.

Roll up a 2nd level char. Max HPs and gold for 1st level. To roll HPs for 2nd lvl - re-roll ones or twos to get at least three HPs.

Dual or multi-classing allowed.

Wizards can use short swords and wear low lvl armor. Rogues can wear a higher armor (can't recall which one atm).

Mebbe some other house rules, but no worries. I have various NPCs that you can use if need be.

Roll 20 I see, what do you use for communication?

Edit just saw it is discord. My user name is, predictable, Scitzz. I have used it a total time of once :D

Another question about rolling char, 3d6? No 4d6 drop lowest/ones or whatever? I am good with whatever though.

Last edit I hope! Found Chargen rules.

Sorry, I meant to post more stuff about the game.

Busy with diner, taking dogs out, smoking a fat cigar, helping the wife trim bushes, loading up the dungeon with monsters, etc.

I use Maptools for our desktop (and it's easy and we can help you get started if need be). I do have a Roll20 game, but that's for my practice and I haven't been on there in a bit.

Yes, Discord for voice.

Roll 4d6. Re-roll any ones. Then drop lowest die and total others. Arrange as desired.

If your race is gnome - I have additional bonus house rules.

You basically run this opposite of nwelte's game because of Aergraith, right? If so feel free to get into nwelte's game as well. We are 9th/10th level in that game, and getting close to concluding the Queen of the Demonweb Pits series. After that I believe we are giving 5E D&D a test run.
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.
Sounds obvious to me! -Gm Michael

Also, Scitzz . .

choose some deities if your char believes in them.

I don't use fate or mana points, but the Gods are powerful and will help their disciples!

OK, I found the roll20 room and rolled:

14,17,12,17,15,16

Looking for maptools now.

And no problem! There is still life to live outside of games!

I am installing whatever version the guide for ubuntu gave me. Fingers crossed

If it gives me too many issues for tonight...well, I have been needing to build my next computer for dual boot. I have everything but the time to do it. This may be the motivation I have been needing!

Yeah I am getting nothing at the moment. So I can figure this out but probably not last minute and I have no desire to interrupt your (our) game for technical details. I will resolve the issue and join next week, I guess. If I get this going in the next hour or less I will post back and maybe I can listen in on discord while I work on it?

Yes, feel freel to post your notes/journal info from the game into my game thread. As you've probably seen, I do a session journal/recap - but sometimes get behind or forget stuff that happened in game. So, I'm fine with you posting notes. Probably be cool to see if the player's view of the action differs from the CK's view!
