Who here enjoys playing clerics?

Depends on the game.
And especially depends on whether spell lists get altered.

I haven't played C&C yet, but I have enjoyed playing clerics in 3rd edition D&D.

Clerics can be fun to play but I really have to be in the right mood anymore.

I play clerics about 95%+!
Lately, I've been thinking about playing a druid next time I'm a player. Haven't ran one in a long time.

Druids are SO much fun. I just tried one for the first time!

Re: Who here enjoys playing clerics?
Clerics are ok in the right setting, but I'd prefer to play a Druid. Played one recently and had a great time of it...

Re: Who here enjoys playing clerics?
I like them as long as the game is rich enough to have the religion matter, and to role play it.
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

The cleric in AD&D1e, 2e, and C&C has been my go-to class over the last 3-4 years.

Clerics aren't my first choice, but I'll happily play one. Great armor, decent hit points, spell use, turning, front line fighting capability? Check, check, check, check, check.

I'll play a cleric every now and then, but prefer the druid for my divine caster.

I definitely have played more clerics than any other class. There’s something entirely awesome about keeping your fellow adventurers in the fight, staving off the shadow of death.

Re: Who here enjoys playing clerics?
I do enjoy playing clerics, but often don't get the chance. The last two clerics I played, one was a fiery, hard-nosed devotee that constantly quoted scripture, and wouldn't really help non-believers (even among the party). Think the Faith Militant from A Song of Ice and Fire, if you are familiar. The last cleric I played was once a soldier, but upon seeing the horrors of combat, took a vow of non-violence. And though he wielded a mighty warhammer as a symbol of his faith, he never used it. As it might be apparent, my fellow players don't like it when I play a cleric. And let's not even talk about the last Paladin class I attempted.

Dark and brooding, extra violent, superior archers, or crazy hermits they are so darn fun and always "welcome" in any group.. they are one of the four cornerstones of the house that Gary built!

Re: Who here enjoys playing clerics?
Clerics tend to be one of my go to classes. Generally I play the naieve helper of the down trodden, or the bringer of right to those who would pervert the world. I tend to like classes that can support their fellow adventurers but still hold there own when the going gets tough.
Re: Who here enjoys playing clerics?
Depends on the edition. They were a bit OP in 3E, I liked some priests in 2E, and I always run C&C so do not get to take a cleric as a player (or anything else).
I would probably play one in C&C I am not a fan of them in B/X type games and maybe 1E. I do not even mind being the heal bot.
