What's your favourite printing of the C&C Players Handbook?
It can be in terms of information, presentation, ease of use, aesthetics, or etcetera.

3rd printing all the way. As you know Slimy, I've run a game purposefully with only the 3rd printing in mind and it was awesome. I like the layout, the thinness of the book, the original barbarian, the lack of the added illusionist spells, as well as a few other things that escape me at the moment. Oh and of course, the cover art and design, this is the best version!
Re: What's your favourite printing of the C&C Players Handbo
As far as look, feel, and toughness, the third printing. As a CK, the 6th printing, because it presumably has the fewest errors in it.
Yeah, as far as I am concerned all but about 5 of those Illusionist spells can be thrown out.

Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

The one in the hands of my players... if we're playing, I'm happy :}
Wow, Another Natural One! You guys are a sink hole for luck. Stay away from my dice.

The 4th and 6th printings are the best, IMO. I prefer the content in the 6th, but vastly prefer the black and white artwork from the 4th. Show me a B&W version of the 6th printing and I will be a happy gamer.

Though I love the 6th printing, my fav is the 5th printing. I love that parchment paper, non-glossy look.

Yeah, that 6th printing flipbook is crazy good.

Re: What's your favourite printing of the C&C Players Handbo
The flip book is pretty amazing as a product, I just didn't consider it a choice as a favorite phb (in which case I'd still choose the 3rd printing), more like an "all in one" type of book, which I believe should be in it's own category

I think my favorite PHB, hath been the 2nd printing. I just love that cover.

I like the color scheme of the original three phbs, although they are all slightly different, they all have a nice soft earthy look to them as well as that awesome piece by Bradley.slimykuotoan wrote:I think my favorite PHB, hath been the 2nd printing. I just love that cover.

The flip- books. They are black and white versions of the most recent printings.

I think I have to go with the current printing of the flip book. After that, probably the 5th printing.
Re: What's your favourite printing of the C&C Players Handbo
I like the 3rd printing a lot and use it for rules, but when I'm CKing my weekly game ~ I use the 5th print book!

I vote flip book as well. Most up to date rules in black and white. Second place would be the sixth printing leather edition.
