Thanks Lurker! It seems obvious on retrospect, but I've been surprised (and dismayed) at how many RPGers seem to miss that point. Its not so bad for FRPGs based on the OSR A/D&D paradyme but most skills heavy games run into this again and again, at least in my experience.
