We are planning a convention for early next year. This one is in one cool place....

The Castle of Muskogee http://www.okcastle.com/rent.html#

It would be mid March to Mid April time frame.

Does anyone have any interest in going.

Muskogee OK.

We can sing some Oklahoma songs.

With Oklahoma being one of the few regions of Not-Texas that I don't find objectionable, I'd certainly be interested.

That is a heck of a lot closer than lake Geneva. I lot can change between now and then, but I would have to guess that I can absolutely, poitively be there.

What is the best way to get a hotel? What is the best one to stay at for convenience to the Con?

Never mind. My dumb butt clicked on the stupid link and actually read the friggin info. That is a cool looking place. Now I just have to do up a trip ticket to get a mileage estimate for the drive.

Hope I remember how to spell Muskogee, or whatever the friggin name is!

That is a 1,165 mile trip for me. I would probably have to drive it alone, too. It would take me two days each way.

EDIT: Yikes, 1165 miles? I hadn't looked it up but if I recall, I think I'm only looking at about a 5 hour trip for me. That rocks.

No, I am not a fan of Merle Haggard. He's country, right? I like a fair amount of country, but Merle wasn't one of them. I am more the Alabama type.

Yeah, the trip thing says about 16 hours, but I think if I look at real maps I can drive more of a straight line and cut a couple of hundred miles off. These trip things can be highly unreliable, like I did another trip thing for some place about 20 miles form here and the trip maker had me going 46 miles to get there.

So I will look at real maps and find out. Same thing for going to GenCon in 2007. Unless I get real lucky and go this year after all. Gen Con SoCal is a lot better for me in November. That is like an 8 to 10 hour drive.

I'm just north of Houston, so Muskogee is about 450 miles away, for me. That's within reason -- I'd probably go, work circumstances permitting.

I prefer Lake Geneva. Even though that room in the pictures appears to blow away the hall of The Cove, there is simply something magical about Lake Geneva, the place where it all began. And of course where a certain fellow's porch lay.

My wife is waiting for a solid date to be given to see if she can do a dog show around there, then we can write stuff off as a business trip, especially food, mileage, and hotel fees.

For Gods sake, make sure to CALL me and remind me about a month in advance hahaha.

Muskogie is like 2 hours from me and I can bring all sorta goodies (Mini's, dwarven forge ect.) Ya'll know how I roll.
