Re: Whats changed?

If the Int check succeeds the recipient of the spell rejects the alteration of reality (same is true of all Illusionist spells - making the save rejects the alteration of reality). Also, the healing spells are marked as (h) which means the recipient can refuse to make the save and have the spell act...

Re: Whats changed?

The "official explanation" is that illusionists alter reality. They change reality to one where the wounds are healed. An illusionist uses magic to alter the perceptions of others and even reality itself . This magic deceives the senses, creates false images and sounds, changes sensory qua...

Re: Encumbrance

It is not moving in a straight line, but rather gravity is forcing it into a curved motion. If gravity ceases to work on the object, then it will continue in a straight line (a tangent to the surface of the Earth). From the viewpoint of an observer that gravity is still working on, it will appear to...

It depends on whether we're talking "weightless" but still with mass (then gravity will continue to work on the object, keeping it "stuck" to the Earth) or "weightless" with no mass (then gravity will no longer work on the object, and it will continue in a straight line...

See the hit points section of combat in the CKG (pg 314 in the latest). There are optional rules there for graduated damage impacting skill checks, and rules for dealing with massive damage.

Re: Killing an unconscious, held, or paralyzed victim

If combat is ongoing, I make them roll. However, it's AC -10 on the target (defenseless) and +8 to hit (called shot). If combat is ended, and the players are "mopping up", it's automatic.

Re: Stick a fork in me .. I’m done (but with a ray of hope)

The only thing that would have been closer to my heart would be a guy from Pointe du Hoc, or a D-Day jumper (esp a Pathfinder). I worked with a Canadian a while back, and his grandfather was a Canadian jumper that went in with Operation Tonga. I talked to him a bit before he passed; interesting old...

Re: Wizards, Fighters, and Balance

The person who wrote the review does not understand the system. Saving throws have a "Challenge Level" (CL) in addition to the base number. When saving against a spell cast by a spellcaster, the default CL of the spellcaster's level should be used by GM, in addition to any other challenges...

C&C is a "rules light" system. Many things are left to the CK's discretion / common sense.

You'd need to give me an example. I can't think of anything that would be needed in play that is not provided by the ruleset in some way.

There's a reason why C&C is a "rules light" system. They don't attempt to make rules for every situation; a lot is left to common sense and CK discretion.

Re: Holding an Action

When your turn comes up in the initiative order, you tell the CK you're going to wait. Then, later in the round, you tell the CK when you want to take your action.

For the Draug I would use a similar mechanic; penalty of -7 if the creature is within 100' of it's ship.

Re: Turn Resistance

The only one I saw with "Turn Resistance" is the Skeletal Warrior, and the mechanic is in the creature's description.
TURN RESISTANCE: If a cleric attempts to turn a skeletal warrior, they incur a penalty of -7 if the controller is within 100’ of the creature.

Re: Traveller: The New Era

Kinda post-apocalyptic setting for Traveller. The Third Imperium, which has been going through a 6-way civil war for a couple decades (Mega Traveller setting), releases an AI computer virus which decimates most of Imperial space. TNE is role-playing in a rebuilding setting following the collapse. So...
