Re: new C&C edition vs D&D Next
So D&D next.... pretty cool game actually. I will be buying it and I am very happy that WoTC has been listening to the overall fanbase and not the vocal minority you might find on certain internet fora. I havent had time to play much at all lately and I sincerely doubt it would ever replace C&am...

Re: First C&C Session a Success! And Coin Weight...
FR has long been my preferred setting amonst the official D&D offerings. I do not like what has transpired within the Realms in the newest products and novels, but I largely ignore FR canon that has been published after the D&D 3rd edition FR Campaign Setting hardcover.

Re: Rules Cyclopedia on DriveThru
Wonder how much LULU would charge for a HC print version. I hate that a printed book is not an option from drivethru for this book. RC is the single best format to have complete Classic D&D rules for portability and completeness.

Ill try and remember to update my FGII and C&C ruleset. Thanks for the head's up! Have been using roll20 in lieu of FGII but FGII is a pro piece of software and Im glad to see it's still being updated.

Re: I now remember why I ran screaming from 3.x Land
I ventured out to 3.x land to see what was up. I ran into the following post which gave a horrifying reminder of why I left a couple rule sets behind and sought out C&C: One of my players is a Druid Technologist and we're wondering how the Steamsuit from the Paragon Path would interact with Wil...

Re: Standard Array?
The CKG has some alt methods of rolling but I cant recall whether it has an array or not. Either way, the advice already given in this thread should do the trick. Like Kim said above, there is not a huge diff between average scores and exceptional scores in C&C.

Sir Ironside, why don't you like Mongoose? If you dont want to talk about it, no worries. Im curious because Ive had good experiences with the company and their products, not that I have extensively dealt with either.
I dont think Mongoose is the licensee for RQ anymore, but Im not sure.

The new Codex of Aihrde is coming out soonish, but you can buy the After Winter's Dark folio and get some nice full color maps now if you are wanting to get something right now. The Monsters and Treasures of Aihrde is another option with a lot of new creatures that are specific to the setting. The n...

Having bought a couple of copies of the S&W White Box set from BHP when they were available and then recently printed and saddle stapled the three delving deeper booklets, I can say my personal pref is for the S&W White Box. However, I was pretty chuffed about the DD interpretation of the Th...

Re: Too Many D&Ds
Agree that the market is flooded with D&D-type games. C&C has always scratched an itch I had for a 1st ed game without some of the more fiddly aspects that I personally felt werent necessary (not problematic, per se). I was happy to have positive AC values and a unified quick skill system/sa...
