All of that applies to dragons as well, as in they add their full HD to all saving throws PLUS an additional saving throw bonus as determined by their age category. Just so you know.
This is not *strictly* by the book, but if there is a fairly reasonable chance of success with no penalty for a small chance of failing, just let them pass the check and get on with the story. Though, I don't usually let other classes perform the skills of other classes (except climbing) -- but if I...
More Warhammer Quest, once again. With all of these excellent fantasy RPG tile companies out there, WHQ becomes even more evocative. For Warhammer Quest fans, check out http://www.blackscrollsgames.com/ and get DEEP! into WHQ.
I do believe there is a basic method to counter spelling provided by the Wizard class in the CKG. In fact, it's a class ability for higher-level wizards if I recall correctly.
I can say gaming at CLEVELAND CONCOCTION is pretty damn good. I didn't go last year, but the first 3 years I went I ran C&C, BattleTech, and Star Trek: Attack Wing. The game room had mostly board games, but otherwise a diverse group of games including a handful of RPGs other than D&D RPGA-type stuff...
Pers, I've been out of the loop for a while on game stores opening and closing in the area. My fav store in still The Warzone in Cleveland out next to the airport. Mentor is 50 mins away from me so I don't know anything about the gaming store sitch out in that direction (I'm way out on the west side...
Barrowmaze Complete is one of the finest OSR products every released IMO. Un-apologetically old-school, and filled with some classic overland adventures bust mostly a giant mega-dungeon. I have been stealing bits and pieces of Barrowmaze for my C&C campaign games for a handful of years now, but neve...
The quality characteristics for armor, weapons, and other items in my games plays a big part. I play with various qualities of equipment including broken, poor quality (-1/-1), standard quality, expert quality (+1), and greater expert quality (+1/+1). These are considered mundane characteristics tha...
Palladium's fantasy RPG has some choice setting and adventure material. I've mined it for many years, but most of what I have taken is from Book II: The Old Ones.
I'm currently reading my print copy of The Blight (800 pgs). Egads!
If errors have been clearly pointed out, is there any excuse or understanding of why they have not been corrected? No. Any for Trav to befall TLG's inept attempts at editing is completely unfair to him and damages his rep, particularly if he wants to seek other positions in the RPG publishing field...
Be at Gamehole Con next November. I will run games again! I was supposed to be at GameHole this year, but had to change plans fairly last minute for another trip. I will endeavor to be at GameHole next year boss. ~O What happened in Vegas did NOT stay in Vegas. Oh believe me, it stayed in Las Vegas...

Is this not a job for the knights of the crusade? Been there. Done that. I've retired from TLG's editing gig for the reasons mentioned throughout this thread. The most recent 7th printing PHB in the leather format is the best, most premium version we are going to get. So I will probably also retire...
Wouldn't count on it. Is the book even finished? Has the physical backpacks been ordered? I have a feeling we have a while on this one. I still backed TLGs Tome of the Unclean because of how much I like their material on it so far, but not a single person in my gaming group, or in fact anybody I kno...
I'm going to start a caveman game set in a near-total ice age. Spells and such will be around, but they're not like usual casting... not intended for combat, anyway, without magic items. I think I'll allow sasquatch/yeti PCs. There was a neat concept for a video game earlier this year called Farcry...
Absolutely. The AEC is spectacular. I really hope Dan gets a combined LL+AEC cooking sometime in the near future. He's already confirmed this is the book he is working on right now. I think Dan Proctor also mentioned a Kickstarter in October 2017, though it looks like he might miss that target date...
Nice stuff Fizz. I remember in the deep history of Cerilia, that the elves never knew divine magic with the coming of the great migrations. Do you remember if the dwarves of ancient times had clerical magic? If not, wow, dwarven runecasters from the Vikings books is a great idea. I was thinking of u...
I do own a number of historical reference books that I use for RPG purposes. Back in the day I ran D&D-like scenarios that dealt with Rome at the fall of Caesar (and later Cthulhu Invictus), as well as a campaign mimicking the events of Eaters of the Dead (13th Warrior). Nowadays, my various Osprey,...
Other games, you say? You TWO-TIMING SON OF A... Just kidding! Always good to see ya around LD. I too have my fascinations from day-to-day and month-to-month - it often depends on my mood. While I am firmly rooted in C&C I have spent a great deal of time recently playing Beyond the Wall, and working...
