Re: Save For Half episode # 28: "Space Patrol by Gamescience"

Another game I've never heard of, but one that , at least for the references list etc, I'd like to see. Plus the use of 'luck' sounds interesting.

Again thanks for posting it

Wow just noticed I didn't post when I first listened. Thanks for posting this I've thought about looking into Fate games before , so got a lot for this one. That said, from this I'm SURE Fate IS NOT for me ... It does sound like there is something good to take from it, the collaboration on 'site bui...

Sorry it took me this long to jump back into the conversation. Lots going on with work and then with the in-laws coming for Thanksgiving. Ok, I see your all's point. and it nearly convinces me Yes in total, it can deal out more massive damage over time. But that is theory. In practical, how often ha...

Well, this isn't what I'm reading. It is what my older daughter is reading. The Hobbit. It is good, but strange to see it. It is the book that taught me to love to read. However, my elder daughter learned to love to read a few years ago. And it is not in the same flavor of books that I learned to lo...

Re: Call Lightning - underpowered spell ?

So I have two comments about this... .... I think the wizard spells are meant to cause damage in combat, but the druid's call lightning is meant to damage structures or natural barriers, and so are not tied to a quick combat round in terms of time. ... Note that there IS a 9th level druid spell dea...

Call Lightning - underpowered spell ?

Ok been doing some more reading, and noticed something I've missed before Call Lightning, as written, it only calls down a lightning bolt once every 10 minutes … That is only 1 bolt that does 5+d10 damage every 60 combat rounds. Yes, that is great damage potential ( unless you get rolls like me on r...

Re: Quench spell & magic candles ?

Thanks for the replies After re-reading the spell and paying attention to the level of the spell, I'm leaning toward it extinguishing the magic candle's flames. Reading the write ups i can find on the candles, it makes it sound like the 'magic' is stored in the candle and released as the candle burn...

So, I have restarted the Monday Night Ne'er-do-wells' Masque of Red Death Amazing Adventure game. I've found the new Druid spell Open Sinkhole (1st lvl) a real challenge. It opens up a sinkhole 10-20 feet deep and 20ft +5' per level. It can be cast under foes so they drop into the hole and take falling damage, plus are now trapped at the bottom of essentially a large pit trap. My players have u...

I used to agree with the 'heavy armor negates dex bonus'. Re: The 'filler' Illusionist Spells...why are they there

Eh they could come in handy for some role playing... Spell lists can either be filled only with "useful" spells and we can all just assume magic users don't have for petty effects, or you can write to create a fuller world for them. I could see a rogue/illusionist using Double Treasure to cheat som...
