I'm sorry not to see you this year John! I certainly understand needing to manage finances nowadays. We'll drink a toast to you in any event. Maybe we'll see you next year (or we Minneapolis folk will make it to Troll Con next time around).

Rome is very worth it. Well written and interwoven with historical and semi-fictional characters with that HBO serving of sex and violence. Hopefully Game of Thrones is done like this when it comes out.

Greek/Roman flavor? That's my cup 'O' tea nowadays!

My wife and I are plowing through that old HBO series Rome , so I'm primed for all that ancient world style intrigue if there is any of that to be had.

The Minneapolis contigent (Paul, Mark and Jay) that played in the C&C Tourney session that PiperDog ran last year will be there for another go in 2010. I'm also running a StarSiege game this year for those that are interested (Check out "The Cold Grave of Space" in the GenCon catalog).

I got to play the new Barbarian class during the C&C tournament at GenCon this year. The ability I really thought was the bomb was Intimidate. It's both a great enemy debuff and roleplaying opportunity rolled into one! Definitely a much more well-rounded class with much to offer a party.

<t>I would keep it simpler and retain the D10 roll; adding the dex bonus as a modifier. For monsters, I would add +1 if they had physical primes and +2 if they had both mental and physical primes. We do the +2 to hit and damage and halve the cooldown duration. This is definitely more of a last resort ability as opposed to a core asset to build your Barbarian's offensive strategy around.

Blizzard Dedicates WOW 2.4 Sunwell Patch to Gary Gygax

Just noticed in the readme as I was downloading the big ol 256 mb patch a dedication to Gary. It was nicely done. Reminds the zillions of players out there who one of the inspirations for the game is that they log multitudes of hours on.
