Re: C&C S&S?
A few suggestions in addition to looking at Crypts and Things. Check out D.H. Bogg's Dragons at Dawn for an interesting way to handle magic - basically, the magic user has to create things in a lab but only the GM knows if the roll to create them was successful until the magic user actually tries to...

<t>Certainly sound like viable options at low levels. When you get to higher level magic that may be a bit of a problem with the more powerful spells.<br/> <br/> A variation I've seen on Option 2: you memorize the spell and roll to cast (any number of times per day), if you fail by a certain amount ...

<t>Toon, Gurps, and Cartoon Action Hour Season 2 would all work. They are a little free form though so if the kids want a pre-defined set of abilities for an animal they are out of luck. In fact, if you do GURPS at all, then as a GM who wishes to remain sane, you should make templates for all the an...

M&M Silver Age Supplement Quick Impression
<t>So my FLGS got Silver Age for Mutants and Masterminds a couple of weeks ago and I noticed that Amazon has it marked as a June release. Now as I've said elsewhere, I don't really understand M&M but I'm a fan of the Silver age so I toddled back up to my FLGS on Sunday to look through it.<br/> <...

<t>I had Mutants and Masterminds 2E and the Mastermind's Manual and Golden Age. I just found it too convoluted. I could not wrap my mind around it, try as I might - and I have successully played/GM'ed Champions. I've also been able 'to get' Silver Age Sentinels, Marvel FASERIP, DC Heroes and Heroes ...

<t>Yeah, I think it depends on the setting and mood you are trying to evoke. I got into a similar argument recently with one of the guys in my group recently. I restricted the class selections - a lot. In fact, I disallowed wizards and clerics unless you give up a Prime. <br/> <br/> I'm envisioning ...

Anyone Have This Map?
It was a combined map of the Wilderlands and Goodman Games Known Realms. I have a tiny version but there was a larger one floating out in the ether somewhere. I think James Mishler did it originally but lost it in a computer
crash.
crash.

<t>I would get rid of Wizard and Cleric in favor of Illusionist and Druid. Then limit damaging spells (yeah, movement spells, too). <br/> <br/> The idea of "corruption points" from MERP 2E was good - basically, if you use magic for selfish ends then there's a risk of becoming an evil NPC.<br/> <br/>...

<t>Here's one: a group of 18 - 20 year olds hang out, drink beer and worship the devil. Everyone but the crazy blond leader guy get bored with it b/c it's lame and they were just doing it for kicks. So once the blond guy no longer has any cronies he FINALLY summons an actual demon which he then comm...
