Re: C&C S&S?

A few suggestions in addition to looking at Crypts and Things. Check out D.H. Bogg's Dragons at Dawn for an interesting way to handle magic - basically, the magic user has to create things in a lab but only the GM knows if the roll to create them was successful until the magic user actually tries to...

<t>Certainly sound like viable options at low levels. When you get to higher level magic that may be a bit of a problem with the more powerful spells.<br/> <br/> A variation I've seen on Option 2: you memorize the spell and roll to cast (any number of times per day), if you fail by a certain amount ...

<t>Toon, Gurps, and Cartoon Action Hour Season 2 would all work. They are a little free form though so if the kids want a pre-defined set of abilities for an animal they are out of luck. In fact, if you do GURPS at all, then as a GM who wishes to remain sane, you should make templates for all the an...

M&M Silver Age Supplement Quick Impression

<t>So my FLGS got Silver Age for Mutants and Masterminds a couple of weeks ago and I noticed that Amazon has it marked as a June release. Now as I've said elsewhere, I don't really understand M&M but I'm a fan of the Silver age so I toddled back up to my FLGS on Sunday to look through it.<br/> <...

<t>Yeah, I think it depends on the setting and mood you are trying to evoke. I got into a similar argument recently with one of the guys in my group recently. Anyone Have This Map?

It was a combined map of the Wilderlands and Goodman Games Known Realms. I have a tiny version but there was a larger one floating out in the ether somewhere. I think James Mishler did it originally but lost it in a computer

crash.

I've been looking for something with a flavor more akin to "The Hobbit" rather than "The Lord of the Rings" - more folklorist and whimsical than epic. Can the Wilderlands handle that?

First fantasy RPG I played. Pretty much a sandbox. Stories flow pretty naturally from it. No need for modules. Combat can drag out or be relatively quick - depends on the group.

Peter, I think 'dry' refers to how it leaves your mouth feeling - dry as in thirsty or dehydrated.
