I'm hoping that should be homicide detective, but it would certainly make for an unconventional player character.

Re: Movie remakes that are actually good ?
By far the best (and most famous) version of The Maltese Falcon, the one starring Bogart, was about the third movie of it. The others were quickly forgotten.

Re: Clarification
If you don't have a ranger in your party, should you still Not be allowed to add your class level? Personally I can’t think of a reasonable justification for it only applying to a class in your party. You’re not a great tracker, but you’d imagine that a Ranger being in the party would potentially m...

Re: CKG UK Purchase
It’s strangely difficult to find a copy over here; I left a search running on eBay and eventually picked up a new one at a discount due to a dinged corner. The only other potential stockist I can think of offhand is Fanboy 3 in Manchester. Nothing on the website, but last time I was there (admittedl...

Re: CKG UK Purchase
You’ve perhaps already seen Dungeonland, although they’re also out of stock at the moment. However, they do seem to carry the largest C&C selection in the UK these days so may well be ordering more soon. I’d suggest getting in touch if you’ve not already.

Re: C&C 2.0
Yeah. The editing thing is weird to me too and really such a minor thing to drop a game over. The problem to my eyes has always been that if a given book is full of multiple mistakes—especially ones such as “See Page XX” which even a cursory check with a word processor would catch—then it raises a ...

Re: What gaming stuff are you reading?
A brush with Covid laid me low for weeks and left me unable to focus on anything for several months; even now I’m not back to normal. Still, I’ve recovered enough to start a thorough read-through of the Victorious rulebook, which I’m very much enjoying. My group started playing it a few weeks ago an...

Brian Eno’s Ambient 4: On Land. Sometimes I need an album that won’t insist on my attention at all times.

Re: What are you reading?
Decided to dip into Katherine Kurtz’s Deryni series again, so I picked up the Camber of Culdi trilogy and finished the first volume today. Rather better written than the first Deryni trilogy, although a slightly hurried and anticlimactic conclusion. I’ll take a short break with something different t...

Re: Evil in the White City Act 1 Released!
A bit of thread necromancy, but it makes more sense to ask the question here:
With no sign of the later acts being released as yet must we consider this adventure series sadly dead?

Amazing Adventures 5th Edition adventures
Trawling a few websites to see what Castles & Crusades and Amazing Adventures goodies I could find, I spotted several AA books I didn't recognise. These turned out to be adventures for the 5e version of AA which had been erroneously listed as SIEGE Engine books, but it did alert me to the existe...

Re: Forum upgrade - test post
… there is nothing like the forum and the ability to go back and look through posts from years ago. Absolutely. It's worse than that for people in different time zones, though: Discord's chat style presentation means that you can only really use it properly when the majority of people are on there,...

I'm far less bothered about the look of the forum than I am by it disappearing. Thanks for taking the decision to update and keep the forum around, there really isn't an adequate substitute yet.

Re: Tunnels & Trolls 5th Edition compact paperbacks cheap
I'll defer to Big Jack Brass here. If he disagrees with any of this, I am obviously mistaken. No, that's an excellent run through the major differences and in considerably more detail than I could manage! And anyway, I'm hardly an expert: the main thing I learned from T&T was never to prioritis...

Re: Tunnels & Trolls 5th Edition compact paperbacks cheap
I've never tried T&T but remember seeing their stuff at the local hobby shop in the early '80s. How different is it from D&D or C&C? Character class is based around magic use: Warriors cannot use magic; Wizards can fully use magic; Rogues can use some magic. There are all manner of choi...

Thanks for posting this. I do wish the company would directly put updates here as well as Facebook. Not everyone uses that site.

Ah, thank you. That's a pity.Buttmonkey wrote:I believe he meant Twitch, not Twitter.
Since it looks as though the latest versions of both the PH and M&T will be out (probably) this year I'll just stick with "C&C Condensed" for now and wait.

I take it that the PDF is currently only available to backers of the Kickstarter? The ones on DrivethruRPG and the TLG store seem to be 4th printing.

Thank you, that's helpful. The bundle doesn't look too be much of a deal in that case, as you're paying for content twice. I've picked up the Keeper's Guide to start with.

Haunted Highlands bundle?
As the HH guide appears to be long out of print and extremely difficult to find I looked into getting a copy in PDF. This has left me confused. DrivethruRPG has a bundle containing the guides and several adventures (DB 1-6), but when I read a review of the CK HH guide it seemed to indicate that the ...

At the moment I'm working my way through Danger International [/b] with a view to using it to run a game of Fringeworthy . I could use the original Tri Tac system, but it's a bit of a mess to sort through and find the relevant information, so I thought I'd go for something that's rather more coheren...
