Re: Minimizing math while also balancing the "Siege Engine"
Thanks and an interesting concept. However, I'm a bit confused here - are you suggesting a "roll under"-mechanic here? If not, things get harder the further you progress in level... Or am I misinterpreting something?

Re: Half-orcs: How often do have you seen them used as PCs?
Back in the AD&D days my players often chose to play half-orcs.
And my first ever AD&D character (before I got into GM:ing) was Ugluk the half-orc fighter.

I love this book and this version looks very nice indeed!
Thanks for the hard work you have put in here.
I would also buy a Lulu print version to bring to the gaming table.

Re: Light sources and burn times
Thanks for chipping in guys. Seems like I'm in minority here for wanting clearly defined burn times, but yes I think that it would be useful. And for new CK's I would say it would be very useful. Of course, items will have some individual variation due to quality issues etc., but average times with ...

Light sources and burn times
Over at the C&C Google plus community, someone raised the question about "burn times" for various light sources (candles, torches, lanterns etc). And strangely enough, no one could find anything on the subject in the C&C core books. Of course, you could use the corresponding tables...

Re: Anyone using milestones instead of xp for C&C?

Someone on some forum (or Google plus) recommended the following leveling scheme, which I think would fit my games: Level No of sessions Cumulative session 1 1 1 2 2 2-3 3 4 4-7 4 8 8-15 5 8 16-23 6 8 24-31 7 8 32-39 8 8 40-47 9 8 48-55 10 8 56-63 Basic formula: 1-2-4-8-8-8-8 etc. EDI...

Re: Dungeons of Aufstrag - meaningless maps
Of course, I could buy the PDF, but I shouldn't have to when I already purchased the print product... The Trolls are not alone in this - I mean, look at D&D 5e - also itty-bitty maps and then you have the option to buy readable ones from the map-maker. It wouldn't take much to either include zoo...

Re: Anyone using milestones instead of xp for C&C?
Thanks Treebore, That sounds great - about what I would like to achieve. As for what the players think - just ask one of them to be "xp accountant" and in a few sessions they will beg for milestones...;) Luckily, I think that my players couldn't care less - but then again, they never cease...

Anyone using milestones instead of xp for C&C?
I'm contemplating chucking the xp thing altogether and just level up the PCs when I think it's appropriate. Of course, this will mean that all classes level simultaneously and so on, which might be a bit heretical for some old schoolers. However, I really cannot see the advantage of counting xp by t...

Dungeons of Aufstrag - meaningless maps
So I've got The Dungeons of Aufstrag (A13-17) and it's a cool book, but the itty-bitty totally unreadable maps in the appendix don't make anyone happy.
Are these maps available as downloads somewhere? Because as printed, they are practically unusable...

Re: Less Players More PCs
In our current Blood & Treasure game set in Frog God Games Lost Lands we started out with 1 PC each (I have 5 players in total), but since it's very rare that all the players are present at every session I allowed them to make a secondary (or backup PC) as well. When we're few players at the tab...

Re: S&W Monstrosities for C&C
When we're into monster books, I must admit that I'm a monster book addict. I collect monster books and use for all "old school compatible" (i.e. pre 3e) games, including C&C. And my favourites these days are Complete Tome of Horrors, Monstrosities and Tome of Horrors 4. Another great ...

Re: S&W Monstrosities for C&C
I use monsters from all editions and clones for all my games. Sure, they sometimes differ a bit, but I ascribe it to them being different variants or individuals. For C&C, conversion is easy, just as described earlier in the thread. I haven't used Frog God's adventures using C&C, but I use t...

Re: Aihrde cosmology questions
Ah, the Big Troll himself :) Hi there, I've been re-reading the cosmology chapter again and I think the most confusing thing is that the text and diagrams doesn't always match, and this creates some confusion when I try to picture how things relate to each other. Another thing I cannot envision is I...

Re: No Country for Weak Men - new free C&C adventure availab
So we need to sign into the actual KotC site to get the adventure PDF? Yes, the Knight level of the Knights of the Crusade site. Apparently, that's the only "legal" way to publish your home made C&C stuff. I would prefer to publish it on DTRPG (and Lulu for print) as I do with my Swor...

Aihrde cosmology questions
I recently got the Aihrde PDF and it's a really nice book. One thing that got me quite confused was the chapter on cosmology. Are there any sources where Aihrde cosmology is discussed and explained in a clearer way? Or can anyone here explain...? Anyway, I like the non-linear and non-standard D&...
