Abilities into PHB tables
As an experiment, I've tried adding an Abilities column to the Class tables in the PHB. I like this better as you can see the Abilities they get at each level instead of having to read all the text above the table. Can someone tell me if that has been done before and if so where? Thanks! Here is my ...

Re: Kickstarter - Digest, etc.
I'd say chances of this being out March 2019 are pegged at zero percent (given that the Adventures Backpack was like 15 months late). (I print all my C&C books B&W...purchase the PDF, print at Lulu for about $5 each - for some reason my "color blindness" has trouble reading the tex...

How is your Dark Dungeons Deluxe related to Blacky the Blackball's Dark Dungeons? http://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/177410/Dark-Dungeons Are you Blacky? Or are taking his/her game and updating it? Re: Adventurers Backpack Editing: Adopt a Class
I do find it "funny" that we in the RPG fandom, support a product by purchasing it (or in the case of a Kickstarter, purchasing it waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay ahead of time)....then in some cases end up doing much of the editing, etc for free. (I've done this several times myself for different ga...

Re: level of C&C output
Well one might ask "If you're always 6 months late, why not pad your estimated delivery date by 6 months?" But, what do I know? :) Or do like Kevin Crawford - don't even start your Kickstarter until you're 98%+ done. In any case, as I said...just "anxious" to see the Backpack and...

Re: level of C&C output
Guy at Gamehole Con just reported they said they "hope to get Backpack out by end of the year." Kickstarter said "June". Maybe they meant "June" of 2018.

Re: level of C&C output
Yeah - Crawford is good, but Schwalb puts even him to shame. Crawford doesn't put out much in a given year...Schwalb cranks out stuff monthly it seems. I do like that Crawford doesn't start his Kickstarters until he's basically done - unlike many who don't seem to even start until after the KS is do...

Adventurer's Backpack is still not out... Which led me to wonder why it seems like only Robert Schwalb of Shadow of the Demon Lord fame is the only creator I know that can put out product on a steady pace? In fact SotDL and Green Ronin's Fantasy Age both came out in 2015. Schwalb just released the 2...

Re: Empyrea for C&C
As backers know by now, it appears the plug has been completely pulled on this KS and it won't be re-booted. Mr. Mentzer sent a personal note that seems to re-affirm his commitment to publishing Empyrea, but his decision is that kickstarter is not the right venue (I suppose we could post his update...

Treebore that's a good point...a good map is often all you need to spark imagination and get the game going. That reminds me of this article I saw the other day: https://www.tor.com/2017/10/10/tolkiens-map-and-the-perplexing-river-systems-of-middle-earth/?utm_source=exacttarget&utm_medium=newsle...

Re: Empyrea for C&C
19 members in a gaming group I'm in ...and zero of them will get this. Many of the gang are into more "narrative" type games - though there is no one game we all like. The 2 closest to that are Shadow of the Demon Lord and Marvel Heroic. Numenara/Strange liked by 2-3 of them, but they neve...

They may regroup and do it again on smaller scale. Doesn't particularly matter to me since I wasn't going get it anyway. I just like to see good RPG stuff out there whether it's for me or not.

Re: Empyrea for C&C
KS has been "stuck" at $52K for awhile - friend of mine said that's not a good sign. Actually none of my RPG buddies are interested at all. Someone (or some group) pledged $10K though...even if I had that kind of disposable income I wouldn't personally spend on an RPG game. I may, you know...

Asking for $250K seems like a tad much - I smell failure here. But, gamers have funded dumber things that's for sure.

You've probably seen this, but evidently Frank Mentzer's upcoming Empyrea setting will have a C&C book option:

Re: Proficiencies/Differentiation
C&C seems to have most if not everything ACKS does (and more)...but it's not as "up front" about many things as ACKS is. You have to dig through the CKG to get to much of the "good stuff".

Re: Proficiencies/Differentiation
I like this comment in the CKG for Advantages:
General advantages are open to any class, offering non-characters further ways to customize their character.
What pray tell is a "non-character"?

Proficiencies/Differentiation
Finally have been able to play Adventurer Conqueror King. I made a human fighter as I've never ever played human fighter. Part of ACKS is that you get Proficiencies, so I ended up with: Proficiencies (General): Adventuring, Navigation Proficiencies (Class): Weapon Focus - Sword These actually helped...

Re: non-Vancian magic
Well, one way to look at it is:
- I am the fighter, I am rolling to succeed in hitting you.
- I am the wizard, you rolling to see if I succeed in hitting you (your save roll).
Why aren't both attacks rolled by the attacker?

Never been a huge fan of D&D's magic system. Pretty sure it was just Gary's way of keeping Magicians from raining fireballs onto his preferred Fighters. And recently tried to read Dying Earth by Vance and couldn't even finish it. So..not surprising...curious if anyone here has successfully ditch...
