I wish I could plan that far in advance! I hope to attend this year but as usual I'm in a 'wait and see' mode.

Re: Castle Zagyg- what is out there?

Man, my primary copy of upper works is a limited edition perfect-bound version of the box set (the box available to the retail chains was saddle stitch only) and I cant see ever parting with it. I might let go of my other retail copy but not anytime soon. I am sad to see folks jacking up the price t...

Re: Why C&C Should Be Your Go-To D&D

I agree that C&C is what "AD&D 3" should have been instead of the 3E that we got. I have a hard time with go-to games because often it comes down to my mood. OD&D has been my go-to game for decades because it's so easy to tweak and house-rule. While C&C is certainly in my "top five" RPGs of all tim...

Re: Castle Zagyg- what is out their?

Talanian did the setting so much justice it was very sad that so much of his labor will not see the light of day. Jeff is an awesome cat with top notch writing skills and more importantly was Gary's hand-picked scribe for all things Zagyg under the TLG flag.

Re: Jim Ward is in the hospital again...

Jim ran a game for about 10 fortunate souls (of which I was one) at Troll Con a few years back. Even though my Ranger died at the hands of a bumbling cohort, the game was top notch and truly fun. If any of you cats ever get a chance to roll a character at Jim's game table, do not squander the chance.

Re: What Board/Card Games Are You Playing?

If you like Axis and Allies but want a little more "wargamey" WWII game without a steep learning curve check out Band of Brothers Ghost Panzer. That is a solid game with fairly light rules that convey the wargame feel without the overhead of monster games like ASL and the like. It's set on the Easte...

Re: IE 11

Make sure you are using the win32 version of IE 11 and not the 64 bit executable. The 64 bit is more buggy. Also try compatibility view (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/use-compatibility-view#ie=ie-11). That usually will help with these type of issues. Kill your cookies if neith...

Sweet, thanks. Boy, wish I was still able to play in your game. One of the few downfalls to being gainfully employed. More money for gaming stuff but less time to actually game. I think Rom has said he is, or maybe just said "might", work on one. I'll try to clarify next time we game. Preach THAT, ...

Re: What Board/Card Games Are You Playing?

Yes, sorry. Thunderbolt Apache Leader. Very cool (fairly) light strategy game. Dan Versson Games is a little outfit here in the U.S. that cranks out solid games but this is the king of the bunch, IMO. The hardcopy of the game will set you back 60 bucks on ebay and around 90 bucks retail but totally ...

Havent played this one in a while. Its an excellent game with a lot of strategy and always fun to play. I would rather do the full board game on tabletop but am too lazy to set up all the components today. Vassal to the rescue.

Forbidden Island was a lot of fun. I havent tried Forbidden Desert yet. I only played FI once but would play again if it hit the table. Re: What Board/Card Games Are You Playing?

Agree that Id rather be doing RPG's as well. For the very small time investment (30 or so minutes per adventure at least so far) Im pretty happy with the card game right now. Also, my better half wont play RPGs but she will do the board/card games so we can both participate or I can solo if desired.
