Re: Help making first dungeon

Nice job! When I write, I try to keep a few things in mind: 1.I try to provide the opportunity for each character to have his/her moment of glory. 2. As mentioned, party tactics are key; I'm not beneath including an encounter that could result in a TPK if not thought through. 3. Traps are a fun way ...

Re: Who's running games at Gary Con VIII

After a 1-year (unintended) hiatus, I'm slated to make my not-so-triumphant return to the wonderful world of GaryCon. I have submitted 3 sessions of a new event. I'll let you know when/if it gets accepted. [EDIT] I saw a green check mark next to all three sessions. Looks like we're on, unless I'm mi...

An ode to one of my favorite Looney Tunes cartoons, and I didn't want to be known as the other knight from that cartoon (Sir Loin of Beef).

Sorry...it's too early in the morning, and I haven't had enough coffee for this kind of creativity. Let me see what comes out when I get it in gear. :?

Re: Adventure Hooks

My brother has gotten in the habit when running adventures to, at the end of on adventure, to offer a number of rumors in the region and ask the party which one they explore. I tend to use a funnel system, so if I have spent a bunch of time preparing a dungeon or something similar, there are a numb...

LOL - Once again we run up against biology terms versus socially accepted stuff - intersex is the preferred medical term now-a-days and that seems to also be the one preferred by humans which would have been considered hermaphrodites 20 or 30 years ago. Hermaphrodite is still a term used to describ...

I didn't get the pdf. How does this differ from the GFW stuff, especially Insidiae? I generally like Jim's work, but with a complete set of the GFW books on my shelf, plus a copy of Toolbox, how much novel material is there to justify getting in on the Kickstarter?

We're not the Troll Lord's Legion! We're the Legion of the Troll Lord!

In all seriousness, my issue with using the word, legion is it reminds me too much of Star Wars. I need to ponder that a bit, as well.

Thanks, btw, for adding me to the group. :)

For me, the magic happens when I get to play at the table of an awesome CK. GaryCon is great for that. It's a magical experience when you find you get sucked into a master storyteller's world for a few hours. As one who enjoys being on both sides of the screen, it's even better to try incorporating ...
