Re: Your dream campaign
Those that have access to my Discord know I've absolutely no shortage of plot bunnies to draw on for a C&C game. But...someday I'd really like to run a C&C based version of Bug Hunters; exploring the ruins of an ancient colony of unknown origins. Given how deadly the setting is, troopers wou...

Re: New but also returning (AKA Converting early D&D modules to C&C)
However, there have been times that I had already read the adventure the GM started running. If it is going to be an issue I let the GM know. On the other hand there are times I have just let it go but made sure I DID NOT make decisions or use the knowledge to my advantage. Of course there are time...

Re: What Video Game(s) are you playing
City of Heroes: Homecoming. I really want to try this. Need to get a new system. For now I have a nearly 6 year old so I play Minecraft. Nothing but Minecraft. All Minecraft. I say let's try something else and the kid is like Zuel, "There is no other game, only Minecraft." If you ever esc...

Re: New but also returning (AKA Converting early D&D modules to C&C)
One of my home players, who never DMed, bought modules and memorized them. This was actually a very real thing back in the days of 1e and 2e. It's also a major reason I almost never ran anything I had not written myself. That still holds true as of now, though I've not had opportunity to run much o...

Re: Winter Anime 2024 recommendations for Idea mining
BESM (Big Eyes Small Mouth) RPG does this pretty well as the backbone for the rules. :) But yeah...plot stuff and using NPCs/Villains against the PCs is always fun. "In Media we have a saying. When one family line ends another begins...mine is beginning and thus it is your end little girl!"...

Re: Delay your turn in initiative.
Agreed. Don't recall seeing a written rule...CK's call to allow or not at request of player. An easier way of looking at initiative is not strictly when a player can take action but rather the earliest a player may take action.

Re: asian regions in aihrde?
You'd have to go thru the Divisions of Man descriptions and look at the migration map to really get a feel for it. I've not seen any direct relation to the asiatic civilization...just more of a Mediterranean to Nordic European vibe. One of the ancient humans leans heavy towards Egyptian but died out.

Re: Cost of enchanting items
LOVE the annoyance fee ! I wish I could use that in real life, especially after a day like today ! There have been times when either the client or the engineer in charge has irked me due to being an idiot supreme and I've had to resist the urge to add 25% of the time it's taken me to my project hou...

All of the above are now finished with at least one season. Moonlight is on it's second season at the moment. That Time I got Reincarnated as a Slime is just starting Season 3, so it has two seasons and several OVAs done. Record of Lodoss War, Ruin Explorers, The Slayers, Log Horizon, Freiren: Beyon...

What I use: Assessment fee of 50 gp to see if the item to be enchanted is of sufficient quality to survive the enchantment*, Cost of materials x5, 1000 gp x spell level or equivalent spell level of enchantment, and an annoyance fee (500 gp plus how much the 'customer' has ticked off the enchanter wh...

Re: Spell Question - Prismatic Sphere
I'll use the C&C write up unless there is something that leaves things poorly defined, vague, or simply a logic fail. Then I'll refer back to 1st or 2nd ed. stuff. Given I have a plethora of my own spells created...at worst case I will do my own tweaks and not feel too bad. lol

Re: Spell Question - Prismatic Sphere
Not entirely true if you reference back to the 1st edition of the spell though where it was called a Force Field similar to a Wall of Force spell. Another one of those spells that's suffered from edition edits/tweaking. Given that...the 1e reference does specifically state that Teleport, Misty Step,...

Re: 2e Players' Option
Skills and Powers was what was used to customize your racial abilities using a point system to purchase them. Classes fell under the same type system. There were also Kits which were like a sub-class (ie Thief-Acrobat or Thief-Beggar or Cleric-Smuggler). It also split the six Attributes into 12 allo...

I'd say if that's the case Marcus then Violet needs a little tweak as Energy Field as an effect says pretty much nada about what it stops or functions as a barrier beyond "touch and to wonderland alice!" (chuckles)

Re: Permanency & Con saving throw
We home-ruled this long long ago: I've never really liked the whole concept of burning CON for a permanency...even going way back. Since my group back in the 90's made note of our characters' maximum ages we burned a decade off of their lifespan rather than a CON point. The CON drain effect was alwa...

Re: Spell Question - Prismatic Sphere
No and No. Ethereal Jaunt limits the free passage to material objects and interaction by any 'mundane' means; in that context anything magical may interfere with this this as Prismatic Sphere specifically states that the sphere blocks any attempt to project something through it, including spells...w...

Outsiders would be a reference to those dwelling within the outer planes I believe. Simply a poor grammatical choice in reference to the Good aligned planes/deities, etc.

Re: Runemark: Static Runes
I simply made my own Rune Master class. I could figure out the book class...but it wasn't really user friendly IMO. The example above is pretty much dealing with intent. Hold, Air, Water runes could be read as "Hold in Air repel Water" as one interpretation or "Hold Air when in Water&...

Re: Protection from Alignment
The nature of the charm spell is that it takes effect at the casting Sam. The protection spell is the same as an automatic save or rather provides Spell Resistance, which, according to all versions of the charm spell, negates the spell at that time which makes the duration meaningless. Command is th...

Re: Protection from Alignment
I would argue that one Sam. While the spell duration is 1 hr/level for charm that only applies if it was effective on the target at the time of its casting. If the target has the alignment protection in effect at the time of initial casting, the charm fails utterly and the spell is toast. If the cha...
